You did watch the show from season 1 to 10 and are not a fake fan, right??
>>
>>42998649
I'm a fan of the fandom :)
>>
>>42998657
So... You didn't watch the show then. SHAME!
>>
I started midway through season 2. so long ago now.
>>
No I did not watch season 10.
>>
>>42998664
So, will you continue watching to be a true fan of the show?
>>
>>42998649
I am a true fan because I watched the first episode of season 1 on The HUB when the show premiered and watched it on The HUB until MMMystery on Friendship Express, which was the last episode of FIM I ever watched.
>>
>>42998667
Shame, it contained some crucial information for you to survive the oncoming dimensional merge
>>
>>42998649
I'm a fake fan. I've watched a lot of every generation, but never the episodes of G2.
>>
>>42998685
I don't think that's true. I think you just fibbed on the internet.
>>
>>42998649
I'm still on season 1. My first watching is special, so I'm dedicating my full attention to it. I only got into this a few weeks ago.
>>
>>42998688
In my universe it never got animated, it's only a bunch of comics. What's it like in your universe?

That's the right way to go about it. Don't listen to people who say you should binge, enjoy each episode and give yourself time to think about them. You don't need to ponder the true meaning of them or any silly stuff like that but taking your time with watching the show definitely makes it more fun.
>>
>>42998697
How far are you into the series, and how did you get here? I'm not trying to drive you off, I'm wondering how someone gets into FiM six years after the show went off the air.
>>
>>42998700
Here we got an entire 11/10 quality season fully animated, but show writers are hesitant to end it, reason being that our Lord and Savior Chris-Kun left a warning that, should s10 ever end, the dreaded dimensional merge will happen. Shame that BroHas did not heed his warnings and pushes the writers to round it up, saying that "They're tired of drowning in money from how succesful it is".
>>
>>42998649
>10
Bruh. Anyway I watched it all but I only like the first 7 seasons, the movie, and some of eqg.
>>
>he hasn't watched Season 11
>>
>>42998649
stopped when trixie got eaten by the manticore or whatever
>>
>>42998859
In your personalized copy of FiM Trixie dies? That's crazy.
>>
>>42998862
what can i say
i love bad endings

Good for you. I got into this in 2017 and that's how I watched it. I usually just put on one episode every night before I went to bed, it was comfy. I think it took me from April until about August or so of that year to get through seasons 1-6, which was all that was out at the time.

>I'm wondering how someone gets into FiM six years after the show went off the air.
It's not that hard to believe when you consider how most people watch things these days. A show being "on the air" doesn't actually matter that much anymore. A couple of weeks ago I was in line behind a family at walmart and the two little girls were talking to the cashier about how they liked My Little Pony and Fluttershy was their favorite. Most normies stream everything these days so the age of a show, or whether or not new episodes are still being made, doesn't really matter. From what I've seen G4 is still quite popular with the target demographic, you can still find a lot of new merch with the characters in toy stores and such. FiM is basically a classic children's series at this point, kids still watch it the same way they watch Snow White and the Lion King and other stuff that came out decades ago. It's not all that surprising that the same sort of adult who would have found it appealing in 2010 could discover it in 2026 and find it just as appealing. G4 isn't going away any time soon and neither is the fandom.
>>
>>42998690
It is true.
>>
>>42999360
Faust Purism lacked the information necessary to exist in its modern form at the time, I'm afraid I'm giving your statement three pinochios on Politifact.
>>
>>42999377
I watched clips of the Canterlot wedding and the Season 3 two-parter on YouTube. I didn't like them, so I read up here to find out more about the episodes, which convinced me not to watch any further. Simple as.
>>
>>42999377
Man, plenty of people were mad about the whole "insert a new alicorn that just never got mentioned before" thing back then.
>>
>>42998649
There's 10 seasons?
>>
>>42999579

From what I understand Cadance's origins boil down to:

1. Hasbro wanted to sell a princess wedding playset so they told the staff to write an episode about it
2. One of the executives had a daughter named Cadance and he promised to name a character after her

The show has been plagued by bullshit like this from the very beginning. My advice is that if you don't like any aspect of Hasbro's official canon, just reject it and create a better one. Then will it into reality through sheer force of autism.
>>
>>42999579
>was watching episodes as they came out on the hub
>decided whether or not to watch episodes based on youtube clips
I don't buy it, Nonny.
>>
>>42998711
NTA, but I got into it from seeing those Brony cringe videos on Youtube. After that I got curious and started watching the show.

I remember watching it on tape back in the day...
>>
>>42999692
Only Canterlot wedding because I already heard that it was one of the reasons Faust left the show so I didn't watched it when it premiered on The Hub and waited for clips here and on YouTube to find out if it really was that bad and it was so I decided not to watch it.
>>
I remember lots of people dropped the show after unicorn Twilight because princess Twilight
>>
>>42999943
too schizo to watch one of the best episodes in the show
Faust didn't want Rarity to be in the show either, she made her a fashionista cause Hasbro forced her to have a fashion pony. Maybe you shouldn't have watched season 1 either then

We really didn't need to have Pinkies 4th wall breaking abilities explained. Wasn't done well. Tho the part where RainbowDash gets a hold of irl movies was funny. What movie do you think traumatised her?

Just a reminder that Season 10 unironically exists (in the comics) and it's as dogshit as you would expect.

I did but it was a mistake, now I'm looking for a way to erase S8-9 from my memory. Can't believe the December 2017 leak hasn't convinced me to stop, I'm such a retard.
>>
>>42998649
I am not a fan of that particular content creator. They are just one creator among thousands. Sure they are a large content creator and also the first, but still only a tiny fraction of the entire FIM multiverse.

I'm stuck in season 4.5, how do i get out of here?
>>
>>43001081
What are you talking about? What he said was mostly true: Hasbro wanted a pony that was obsessed with fashion (clothing) so it would appeal to little girls who want to buy outfits for their dolls, and Faust compromised by making Rarity WORK with clothing, rather than just being the G4 version of G3's Rainbow Dash. I'm not sure whether what he said about Faust not wanting Rarity is true, because I think she made the design before Hasbro made that demand but I'm not certain. I wonder what Faust originally wanted Rarity to be like.
>>
>>43003019
I meant Canterlot Wedding being a good episode, but yeah, I agree with Faust, Hasbro, and Rarity.

It's hard work making the gayest post on /mlp/ but you're putting in the hours, anon.
>>
>>43003814
I was not aware Mom single handedly wrote, directed, and animated, every single episode of the entire show. I was not referring to her, I was referring to hasbro as a whole.
>>
>>43002967
You're better off ignoring the rest. At most open the wiki and pick episodes without Glimmer and School of friendship.
>>
>>43003878
>I was not aware Mom single handedly wrote, directed, and animated, every single episode of the entire show.
She did btw.
>>
>>42998649
I stopped watching when Twilight became an alicorn. I instantly knew that was when things were going downhill. Even hearing the snippets of later events over the years has only reinforced that belief. The show was over as far as I was concerned.
