The last Idea was another one from the stable, but using the idea of latex suit, you know that they look like pigs.

Eating form the ground and dirt, and other things, this was gonna be something outside of the normal.

Was thinking of use somo unicorns like Minuette or Moon Dancer for that one.

There is only some ideas and an small part form the POV of Minuette, degrading herself and why she love that.

Hopefully that doesn't feel like too much of a rugpull. I've tried to establish that he's willing to put up with a lot over the course of this green, and not so subtly hinted that there's a reason for that, but I don't know if it worked.

Once upon a time I asked myself why Anon would abandon his life on Earth and go to a place where he had no support network, defective equipment, and low pay. For a little while the answer was some kind of sex crime, but that was predictable and boring. This was a way to tie together his profession with a pattern of violating consent.

It fleshes out the backstory of why Anon is here in the first place, it fits with the way Anon has been acting since the beginning of the story, and it was a nice half-twist that goes beyond just the "careless error" explanation that is typical of setups like this. We don't know when she expanded out into yakyakistan, exactly, but it seems clear at a glance that she spends the timeskip working herself to the bone at a business that doesn't quite give her what she wants out of life and doing monthly governmental counsels.

So, if rarity can empathize with his situation so much that she doesn't even see a problem because she also has experience as an unaccredited teacher at an unaccredited university, and rarity/the m6 ALSO aren't needed at that university, then twilight sparkle is, legally speaking, the singular royal authority of the equestrian kingdom, and rarity is an oligarch, or perhaps THEE oligarch, given that only AJ and her are real business owners.

And that's the version of her who would most realistically fold when chained in a basement. Younger rarity was stubborn and tenacious beyond control, though also weak and easily taken with romantic ideals.


S4e8: Rarity Takes Manehattan: Rarity has one business location and meets coco, so the story has to take place after this.
S4e18 simple ways: Rarity got over that putz, and also AJ had to help snap her out of it. Now, you've got AJ doing that again, which makes more sense if she's done it before.

Well, your story doesn't have to fit neatly into one place here. Starlight, for instance, doesn't have to exist. Neither does spike, unless you've already mentioned him. Discord's inconsistent enough that you can actually believe he would just do nothing, unless fluttershy dies. His knowledge is also limited, though expanded beyond our own. I also don't remember the details enough to say the current status of "Rarity 4 U".

However, if we're claiming that rarity for you exists, but rarity ISN'T yet literally unofficially more important than cadance, then we're between the series finale and s6e9, assuming we're staying on the show's timeline.

There's also nothing stopping the sisters from maintaining their power network and doing part of their duties while "officially" pushing the title onto twilight, but I don't think that's what you were going for.

Just, rarity's response here narrows the timeline down a little, whatever she says.
Then again, there's nothing stopping her from just being a hypocrite, instead.

That scene had a few iterations. It started as a car crash since those are the bulk of the serious injuries that happen day to day, moving on to a stab wound to mirror Twilight's injury. I ended up with this one because I wanted to show that the patient wouldn't have much of a life left. My criteria are that Celestia and Luna still matter, so it probably happens before the end. Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy aren't petrified as well. I've implied Chrysalis has some knowledge of Tartarus, but she doesn't have to have gone there to know that given her nature.
Coco was previously working for Rarity, so some time after Saddle Row Review, though that could hypothetically happen after things went non-canon.
My version of Rarity has a successful career that doesn't fulfill her much like what you observed from the timeskip, but I see no reason why that can't happen if things deviate before then, and I expect something like Forever Filly to be inevitable which would make her accept she won't be young forever.

The story is formed by the story.

Like, the sweetie example is demonstrative. How attached are you, exactly, to the most negative interpretation of what anon suggested to rarity and then backed out on? If we raise her age, we change what kind of thing rarity was agreeing to. If we DO move forward on the timeline, it now somewhat wastes a bit of the characterization work you did. For a hypothetical new reader, they would also assume the worst version of that scene, and then maybe later figure out that they were incorrect, which becomes an instance of bad communication.

The show itself used the principal I'm hinting at. The cmc are, by the end of the show, business owners and important public figures who could totally go to university if they wanted. Twilight refuses them on the grounds that they don't need friendship lessons. They travel across the country on their own and twilight lets them do whatever they want in a foreign country unsupervised.

So, how old are they?

The cuteceanera in season one is inspired by a quinceanera, which is for 15 year olds. The cutiemark is, explicitly, representative of coming of age, but what age? The schoolhouse is partially based on old American small town schooling, clearly handles advanced topics by our standards on occasion, and is attended for multiple consecutive years, so the "grade" system as we understand it is not in action.

Spike, in season 1, has to take nappies like a toddler. Actually, it was nighttime after a hard day of listening to twilight yap, but the scene still framed spike as a sleepy baby. In episode 1, twilight uses babytalk in order to frame spike as a needy child and get fluttershy to fuck off, and it works, but she then has to apologize for it. At the end of the show, spike's basically dating a grif and went through the "molt" thing, but it's (likely) only been like 3 years or a few more(the baby cakes are still babies, which limits the time that may have passed). So, did spike go from 6 to 18 in three years? Do we blame "dragon biology"?

The show writes the story it wants to write, and we connect the paragraphs and sentences and scenes in a way which is comprehensible. We're rationalization machines. It's only an issue when rationalization becomes ACTUALLY impossible, and so we have no idea what it is we're meant to interpret from the text.

So, these unanswered age questions are mostly fine, with the exception that we don't know what to make of Rarity being a tease to a young boy for years and then actually pursuing him the moment he moved on. It's quite difficult to say by what metric we should be judging her, due to this ambiguity.

While celestia's signature needs to hold weight, it's not only a princess who's signature holds weight. Maybe she simply gave herself a position 1 step down from princess which has all the powers and none of the responsibilities.

This is not to say that they have actually done these things. Only that it's actually very hard to create an unresolvable conflict. That's what I'm demonstrating when I say that you could make twilight the queen of everything next chapter and it, technically, wouldn't even be a twist to anyone other than anon.

So, if you present celestia as still possessing both divine and bureaucratic authority of the throne, then she does.

For the last time before I begin making nerdy suggestions which actually answer your question: none of what I'm about to say matters, and the task of pinning this down explicitly in your story IS the thing which may generate unresolvable conflicts later, if you should choose to do it.

Tirec and cozy are basically completely irrelevant. They could never be mentioned or they could show up next chapter. Both options would imply things about the world and timeline, but I see no potential issues. All that matters, then, is that discord isn't currently forcing queen bug to work with them, as that would imply he's spying on 10% of what chrysalis is doing and giving her orders of some kind, which would be a problem for the story.

Rarity encountered the conflict between her career as a fashion shop owner and her passion as a fashion creating pony as early as "canterlot botique", so that's accounted for.
There is nothing which could be an issue up until saddle row review, and so there is little point in creating a massive deviation before then.

Immediately after that, the changeling race gets power scaled through the roof. You don't have to change what happens in s6e26. You could have everything we're currently seeing be in direct response to this massive escalation in warfare. The ponies, which previously were allowed to just exist, now have to present a serious defensive front against an army of lies and lairs.

As warfare continued, that implies that the changeling's are not currently ruled by thorax, and did not become gay colored. If the changelings aren't ruled by thorax, that implies that thorax did not learn the lessons he needed in order to overturn the culture of his colony. This implies he didn't have help from starlight/discord/trixie, or that he did not learn about friendship from spike the dragon.

So, you can say that everything we're seeing was caused by the deletion of spike the dragon from your story, at some point. Or starlight. Or trixie. Or discord.

Or, you can just have humanity emerge right before this, and so introduce guns, and so thorax can be someplace under the tundra with a .22 in his neck instead of ever meeting spike... or I mean spike could be packing when they meet, I guess.

s6e16 was the introduction of thorax, which was shortly after saddle row review. You could also place the introduction of humanity a short time before saddle row review, and so the story of the failure of the m6 when opening this shop could be overshadowed by the discovery of interdimensional physics-monkeys. That would potentially give you an excuse to give that context in a flashback, either coco's or rarara's.

So, introduce humanity right as rainbow joins the wonderbolts. A bullet is thrown from an experimental crystal empire patrolstallion into a random changeling in the snow. Now everything sucks.
Otherwise you could give thorax the gat and put a cap in spike. Could also cap a random guard earlier that day and so have twilight refuse to let spike go outside alone.

School starts in S8. After that, the only relevant events are Draggon dropped" and "fake it till you make it"

The personal growth in dragon dropped isn't actually needed, as the underlying emotions are there either way. She would still have that same insecurity, and would still not take spike seriously as a romantic option, either before or after.

While fake it till you make it is the first and last we see of rarity actually acting as an artistically empty business pony excited to push her project onto others so she can go do art, that general consept can be assumed in the absence of an episode showing it, at your convenience.

Given this, you can rip the school out of the story completely without issue. You could also leave it, but that would imply cozy glow which would imply grogar which would imply discord just made chrysy stab twilight to near death and hurt flutters.
Those implications are weak, but they would be there.

As you've decided to age flurry a few years, your timeline should be after the canon end of the show, but obviously that episode simply did not happen in this world where equestria cannot afford a new and young monarch. Given that you've now got like 4 years of time to work with, just about any event you can imagine could have happened between s8e27 and now. That's enough time that you could totally keep the school if you wanted without it presenting an issue, just as long as Discord never does his grogar shit.

But the cmc should be either adults or within a year of growing physically. Lucky you that ponies spend so many years as fillies, potentially

While most of the timelines are clearly not close enough to equestria as we know it, there are options here.

You could just imagine up another timeline not shown.

You could say this is the original timeline, which is not quite what we follow in the show. In the show, after S5, we follow the timeline where starlight and twilight had a mostly unimportant conversation in the past and starlight surrendered. The original timeline doesn't have that. This implies the existence of the twilight sparkle from the new timeline, who we never see. That is solved by having the tree use it's vacuum-thing to rip that twilight out of her timeline and then drop her in the original timeline.

The process of timeline creation also might be more granular than what we see. While twilight only sees the futures she's sent to, the time-vacuum also sucks up a bunch of air, meaning that it makes a near infinite set of exceedingly marginal differences during time travel, instead of just one. A difference that small wouldn't really require explanations for how it altered future events. Just, given enough time, things might start to play out differently. It's not generally reasonable to explain your decision making in terms of the air pressure above cloudsdale 7 months ago.

However, poking time travel with a stick is a bit dangerous to narratives, so use discretion.

This is one of the questions I've been trying to dodge. I don't want to make foalcon a major part of the story since it would narrow the appeal of something that's already a tiny niche, and I don't much care for it anyway.
