She wouldn't let her leave the hotel room and now she's forcing Mari to buy her soda, and she persuaded Mari by leaving the car with music and going halfsies on dinner.

good episode. it had some funny gags - turning Buzz Lightyear into Bud Lightyear, killing Pinkie for no reason, Pinkie repeatedly closing the trunk, Celestia eating carrots, and the absurdist premise with Dashie still living with his father despite how lore-breaking that is. there were some questionable scenes, like the addition of Dashie's mother, who barely affects the plot - it's pretty clear Tamers just wanted to draw her but couldn't find a good way to insert her into the storyline. and the third arc, overall, offered a weak payoff, with nonsensical final appearances of Pinkie and Spitfire that happened just for the joke. it feels like Tamers wanted to animate a huge Dashie vs father fight but realized mid-production it would be too close to "Trixie Meets Twilight's Parents and Immediately Regrets It", or he ran out of time - and resolved the conflict with a cheap gag. oddly enough, he tried to reframe the finale as a conflict between Dashie and Pinkie, only to resolve it five minutes later. that was oddalright, I guess - but I'm not a fan of their on-again off-again, like "The WORST Skii Trip Of Pinkie Pie's LIFE" never happened. I think it doesn't - this episode plays more like a sequel to "Pinkie Pie's Sleepover" in the same way "Twilight Sparkle Takes Trixie to a Japanese Bath House Because She Smells Bad" is a sequel to "Sweetie Belle in Love". in this episode Pinkie is not a homicidal psychopath or clever mastermind as she was portrayed in "Twilight Sparkle & Friends Get a Hotel Room" and "Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash Break Up" - here she's a bubbly, genuinely autistic pink horsie who loves Dashie without any hints on abuse or manipulation, and she struggles with reading other ponies' emotions and intentions. I love that depiction of her more that this lame yandere shtick. also enjoyed that brief scene where Pinkie expresses disappointment at Dash constantly bringing up her autism - I wish they had spent more time developing that angle: Pinkie is autistic but doesn't view it as a disadvantage and resents being patronized; that can be a good setup for reasonable conflict between two without faux maliceas for other characters - glad the events of Abyss are finally addressed. it was welcome to see new dynamics between Mary and Starlight as they try to build a healthier relationship. seeing a more mature Starlight who learns from her mistakes without completely discarding them (still a bitch but now recognizes when she over-bitching) is refreshing. Dash's father was whatever. stereotypical and non-memorable but that's fine since he is a one-off gagin general, short, to the point, packed with good humor and touching moments. easily 4/5 - wish it had more dialogue to showcase characters and a stronger payoff for the ending
