What do you guys think of equestria girls? I've only seen the first movie (avoided it for a while just cause I wasn't interested in the human premise from a glance) but I actually really enjoyed myself, sunset shimmer was especially awesome

Rollercoaster of Friendship is okay I guess.The Sunset backstory comic is good (and then it keeps going with boring human-world crap to fill out the rest of the pages), the one where they get detention is bland, the one about Rainbow Dash feeling insecure is perhaps the only time I felt like any of the humain 5 were written in a genuinely interesting way, and the "Anon-A-Miss" one is objectively flawed but I really enjoyed it in a soap opera guilty pleasure sort of way (I stay the hell away from any fanfic that even mentions the name, though—major red flag that it was written by an autistic middle schooler).

You can't copy-paste human designs the same way you can do it with ponies, as we tend to be more perceptive of each other's difference than those animals have. It was also generally cringe to watch, as they were also trying to be more "mature" by targeting a teenage audience yet kept the childish presentation. While it might seem like Faust's art-style on the surface, it lacks any of the nuance her art has.The concept?You can't make humanized MLP work without changing core aspects of what makes FiM what it is.Its consequences?A disaster for the fandom and G4 as a whole.I really don't get why so many care about it and how it go more popular than the main show in some regions (brown ones especifically), but it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Equestria Girls should've stay as a parody song and nothing else.
