Are Pegasi angels? Minor angels? Angel-adjacent, perhaps? Do they possess any angelic qualities? It'd be a cool origin story if the Pegasus race started out as Earth Ponies who got gifted the divine power of flight by some deity or whatever.
Are Unicorns Demons? Minor demons? devil-adjacent, perhaps? Do they possess any demonic qualities? It'd be a cool origin story if the Unicorn race started out as Earth Ponies who got gifted the hellish power of summoning their will into reality by some entity or whatever.
>>43059481No, pegasi are just silly birdies. Changelings, on the other hand? Mini-alicorns covered in holes that symbolize imperfection? There's something to it.
>>43059495idk why you picked unicorns for that when Bat Ponies are right there and would genuinely make sense
>>43059496I like to think Changelings are literally 100% just giant insects biologically. Eons ago, they did not even look similar to Ponies. They were just bugs. But they feed on love, and therefore a Pony is clearly the most obvious choice as a Changeling's primary food source. And over many generations, Changelings slowly began to mimic the Pony shape via natural evolution. (Y'know, kinda like those spiders that evolved to be shaped like ants so they can infiltrate better.) This is because it takes less energy/effort to transform into Ponies if your true body is already similar to one. Then you don't need to change as much, so you don't waste energy. You maintain the disguise more easily. In theory, there could also be isolated groups of Changelings who adapted to resemble say, Griffons for example, as their true/default form. Griffons are not quite as loving, but competition with other hives for example could cause small pockets of the Changeling race to adapt to the size, shape, and characteristics of Griffons to make it easier to prey on them specifically. Like how bats are nocturnal to avoid competition with birds.
>>43059542Y'know, this is a kickass headcanon actually. It's mine, and I'm replying to myself from 15 minutes ago. But damn. Great job, me. I'm fucking smart and awesome
Fluttershy is intentionally supposed to be angel-coded. You're supposed to think of her as basically an angel
>>43059542>>43059570It is interesting, but also sad because it leaves them poor chances of peaceful coexistence with horses. Unless it's a case of imitation of civility suddenly becoming genuine?
>>43060484Honestly I don't understand why feeding on love is or would be harmful to the Pony in any way, they never make this clear. We give love to each other all the time, why would them feeding on love negatively affect anybody
>>43059542And now imagine there is a subspecies of changelings that evolved to feed on the love of other changelings that fed on the love of ponies.
>>43060853stop my brain hurts ouch
