>>43065591G5 already seems like it’s set in an alternate timeline, given how we have Creaturequestria already by the end of G4, making it harder for Opaline to divide and conquer ponykind like that, so I think Opaline being an alicorn instead of an Earth pony would be a good point of divergence. We didn’t hear much about her in G4 other than her possibly being on a magazine cover, so it could very well be that one pony has an extra role to fulfill that changes everything.
