It's nice seeing a skilled artist deliver now and then, but I must say, there's a certain charm to something sloppy and amateurish from someone who was clearly still trying their best.

Literally everybody who wants to draw needs to at least study "Drawing on the right side of the brain". That will get you out of symbol drawing mode.
