It not being live takes away so much of the fun in HLVRAIMLP. Now it's all perfect, all scripted and edited. Seeing that 'nailed it' clip on the footage killed me inside. I laughed a few times, but upon realizing it's all pre-recorded, the whole thing just feels dead to me. I absolutely love HLVRAIMLP and I hope to see it continue, and I had a great time with this one as I do all the othersBut I think I can safely say this was my least favorite of the 5I know there was some complaints about there being too much plot / dialogue in the murder mansion mystery, but this felt like a bit of an over-correction where instead there was basically no plot whatsoever. There is something to be said for the esoteric, trippy idea of Anon going through all these weird and freaky rooms but the moments that made me laugh or felt engaged felt lacking compared to previous ones. Back when we though we were going to do it live on the day of the con the plan was that everyone excluding Purp would work on their parts where they would come in (the idea was that Purp would go through the map collecting the water coolers that unlocked the end with the help of the other characters) He was supposed to be going into it blind so that his reactions would be genuine and he could concentrate on other con stuff.But people's schedules wouldn't allow it (Tong and Poopsi missed the premiere because they couldn't be here for example) so we decided on doing a recorded version because otherwise there probably wouldn't have been a panel at all (and to experiment with doing recorded stuff in the future)Hopefully we can do a live one for /mlp/con this summer but we'll have to see if everything works out.
