To put an end to low-IQ immigration, Empress Twilight has assigned Applejack to invent a new method of vetting entrants to Equestria, in the form of a Knights And Knaves puzzle (for example, one guard always lies and the other always tells the truth, and the anon must deduce which one of two doors leads to citizenship by asking just one question to just one guard). The very large number of applicants makes it impossible to use actual guards for all of them, requiring the use of robopones in place of guards. Robopones are capable of answering yes/no questions and are otherwise useless in the realm of logical reasoning, but can still open/close doors and/or shoot deadly horn lasers based on external information and events. Here's the problem: it is theoretically possible for a stupid anon (which is most anons) to simply guess which door to go through and get it correct. Whether it's a two-door puzzle, a five-door puzzle, or a fifty-door puzzle, inevitably some anons will get through simply by guessing which door is correct. Without an actual pony or creature on the scene to verify a solution, how can Applejack design a Knights And Knaves puzzle that doesn't let any guessers through, and only allows those smart anons who figured out a solution via reasoning?
I hope I described it right.

The classic example given can be solved by asking, "Which door would the other guard tell me leads to ze gulag?" and then going through the opposite door
