Anyways come to Trot... ohhttps://trotcon.net/announcements/trotcon-2026Press S to spit
>>43146446OP is too lazy, so here you go:>We’ve decided to take the heat off the streets. For 2026, TrotCon is going digital. >We’re bringing the whole show directly to your safehouse. >No travel, no crowds — just the signal, the screen, and the comfort of your own home.>If you’ve already put your chips on the table and pre-registered, don’t worry — your marker is good.>Your registration automatically clears you for the 2027 event, and on top of that we’re sending a "thank you" for your loyalty. >You’ll receive a physical 2026 badge, a custom lanyard, and a sticker set delivered straight to your door. >Consider it proof you were part of the inner circle.
>>43146452AI sloppa
>>43146452So, if you pre-registered for an irl event that involves a lot of preparation (travel, hotel, general logistics), you won't receive an irl event, or even a refund, just a badge.Oh, and a free ticket to an event you don't even know if you'll go to, or want to go to yet, or if it will even happen.I just hope this is going to be another boring Discord convention, and that they don't use something like cytube mainly because I want to use it in the future for something, and I'd much rather be accused of the "crime" of being from /mlp/ than have the idea stolen/inspired from fucking TrotCon
>>43146472Hey now anon, there are so many other fun thing you can do in Columbus, Ohio during a weekend in July, and if you meet the con chair at Trot 2027, they might even buy you a drink ^:)
>>43146452i have no issues with gen ai itselfbut using chatgpt to communicate to others is really insulting
>>43146446>The city is cold, the rain is heavy, and we’re only a few months into 2026. The world out there? >It’s lost its shine. It’s the kind of year that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and shadows under your eyes. >But even in a town this gritty, there’s a light in the window.Fuck off and die. Absolutely fuck off and die. This con is a shell of what it used to be and should have died when they whored themselves out to the fandom for mismanagement during COVID.
>>43146553what mismanagement happened during COVID?
>>43146580They ran 2-3 online conventions during COVID, but still booked rooms at the convention hotel to run those conventions. Even though everyone else ran them from their homes. They ended up running debt in the tens of thousands. I believe it was somewhere between $50K-70K that they accumulated. They then begged and cried to the fandom to "save" them or they would go away. They were able to raise the money, but this fandom is full of retards who are loose with money. At one point, when I called people out on this and told them they were wasting money on people who couldn't manage it, one guy who gave them thousands told me 'I don't care.'Tl;dr - TrotCon is bad with money and got bailed out by rich retards in the fandom
>>43146773I don't care.
>attendees and guests from overseas who are afraid to travel because of ICE>Ohio is in the midst of passing a bill/law into place that may affect our transgender/LGBT community membersInvalidated by Harmonycon being in Texas, it having record breaking attendance numbers, as well as it and all the other cons this year easily having a bunch of Guest of Honor. Why cant these retards just stop lying and tell the truth instead of using buzzwords. Even if the real reason money or shit planning is bad, at least they'd come off transparent and honest
>>43146935
>>43146452>No travel, no crowds — just the signal, the screen, and the comfort of your own home.the whole reason I go to conventions is to travel and be amongst a crowd of fellow pony lovers and most importantly get away from the ""comfort"" of my fuckass hometown
We'll mog them with /mlp/con!
>>43146935They can't self reflect or take any accountability for their own incompetence. It's clear they have no money because attendance dried up, not that they handled money that well to begin with when attendance was higher. So it's DRUMPF'S fault or something, despite the fact that every single other convention is chugging along just fine.Last year they tried to blame the lack of con books on tariffs or some bullshit like that. You know, you get those printed at a local print shop. Whatever. Oh, we can't get any special guests? It MUST be because "they're afraid to come to the US." Nevermind the fact that BABSCon had most of the main cast last year and other cons seem to be able to get guests just fine. But no, hecking ICE might get them!!!The truth is simple: Darkly is a shit leader and ran the con into the ground. They don't have money, they can't afford a venue, they can't afford special guests, and they can't even afford con books. Most of the staff left and they burned bridges with a vast majority of the fandom. They can plead their virtues until the cows come home, but that's not going to make anyone want to come to Trotcon. Why? Because it sucks. It's not fun. They drove away all enthusiasm. So they HAVE to lie and put the blame elsewhere. They're immature children. It can't be THEIR fault they blew all the good will they had towards them.
Type S to spit on grave and how long you been going to trotS2017, missed only winter trot
>>43146446Well, now that reduces the amount of things you can do in Columbus OH, to 3
>>43147199>Pt.1Yep. They've already run out of money more than once and have been cutting benefits since 2022 of attending. Theyre broke and refuse to admit it. >PT.2Lmao they couldn't do con books and tried to make some lame excuses, meanwhile every single other con who does then magically is able to, AND the pony archive printed parody trotcon books out and handed them out to people free. >special guests afraid of the USStrange. I wonder why so many people keep applying to be guests of honor at various other cons then. I also wonder why a pony con thinks it requires to pay VAs to happen, many years ago very few cons could ever get guests to show up, cause they are fandom gatherings not celebrity jerk off events. >PT. 3Ah yes, the tranny whore who refused to allow people to help her pack the sponsor boxes multiple years in a row, resulting in her crashing out about not having help. Even though people offered and as the head your job is to literally delegate. I wonder if they ever got the deposit back for that dunk tank that was filled with beer and cheese balls.
>>43146935>My friends won't be able to come, so I'll cancel the event for everyone
>>43146446Is this legitimate? I want to say it is another crap ass April Fools joke, because maybe these retards would think it’s funny to make a joke about some event people bought non-refundable airline tickets for. Whether this is just a stupid ass joke or real, it just reminds of how Trotcon was at one point the heir to Bronycon and instead it’s just the biggest joke in the fandom.
If you ever went to trotcon during or after the covid era, I spit on you.
>>43147510Oh yeah, I just remembered that April Fools' Day is a thing and it's tomorrow.Even so, I think those Discord messages they sent earlier must be legit, it would be silly to give long explanations just for an April Fools' prank.Or I guess its a prank, but you can just add it to their list of stupid things they've done
>>43147510>>43147619
>>43147667They can't even afford pranks lol
>>43147682Fuckin lawl
Doing effectively zero marketing can’t help matters either. You’re just going to post on your Discord and barely update your social media? Good luck finding new attendees to replace the ones you’re driving away. Maybe you’d have money then. The mismanagement across the board is impressive.
Are they not going to post on Twitter? Did they really abandon Twitter? They only posted on bluesky
>>43149540Twitter is evil!!!1
For a convention that probably coasted for a while on its Twitter presence, being resistant to it now is pretty funny.
>>43146446>A noir mysteryThe only mystery here is why anybody thought this would be a good idea.
