this isn't exactly, many humans in eqg do not appear as ponies
sure you could say that they are off screen but that is as lazy as saying that human sunset has no access to internet and that is why she stays ignorant of the pony one having social media accounts.

the real answrr is that the eqg world and pony world are completely different in their story and events.

that is why celestia and luna are just principals and NMM never happened, why tirek is just a boss in a videogame, why discord is a plushie, or spike being a dog instead of a human, or starswirl being like galileo and not the mentor of luna and celestia, or rwilight being friendless (no moondancer, lyra, minuette, etc in her life), or sunset not being an student in celestia's school already or the big one, the dazzlings turning into humans and not having a counterpart.

i know some staff talked about a special covering human sunset but the evidence shows that she may very well not even exist

I like to think that Luna did something really egregious back in the early 2000s and got fired, then worked as a mail carrier for the next 10 years until she was permitted to reapply.

She was the first to step through the portal. So the simulation was initialized for her. Prior to her stepping through the mirror was in idle mode with no simulation running. The human counterparts did not exist until she first stepped through.

You see OP, if two of the same person were to be in the same place at the same time, one seizes to exist. When Pony Sunset entered the human world, the human Sunset disappeared, causing a split timeline where the world remained the same, but Pony Sunset retained human Sunset's memories.

Maybe Sunset Shimmer was really a phoenix, but her parents found out that she was going to be born more powerful than the other phoenixes, so they turned her into a pony to conceal her identity from predators, poachers, and the like.
