>>43156219I think someone's making a Firefox in a Docker container competitor, but yes. Flaresolverr is the name of it. The script stopped working when FiMFic went behind Cloudflare many years ago. There was always a way around it, but it costs compute. Now, I'm not offering to host it either, because my VPS only has 1GB of RAM and I also don't want to pay for more when it already does everything else I need it to do, so I halfway get it. But also it is just a Docker container that needs to run for two minutes at a time, come on. I even gave him the example code to shim it.

I suppose we'll have to see if Heart of the Author kills us when we get to it eventually. So thanks for participating everyone and I wish you all a happy Easter!Due to its popularity last week, the next fic should be Kaidan, but I'm not sure another anthology in a row is a great idea.I think that's about it, yeah? Oh, right, there was also a fic for this week.Sigh… Well, it's not even bad. I don't think so, at least? I didn't manage to read all of this week's chapters, but I think I have a good sense of how it'll go. To be honest, I did smile while reading it, despite the [Comedy]! But the whole fic is many thousand words of “the joke is sex”. There is nothing more and nothing less, so it all depends on the joke landing.To the author's credit, he really went all-in on the E-rated “cuddling”. We're seeing incest+filly jokes about AJ&AB as soon as chapter 1, and then go straight to zoophilia (you know what I mean) and NTR-ish vibes in ch.2. That's good—for the absurd humor to work, the author couldn't afford being a coward. Those totally-not-sex scenes also stick very close to the characterizations you'd expect to see. If anything, you might argue they're taken too far, too archetypical—but for a comedy fic like this one, I think it's appropriate.I'm disappointed by the prose. It's fine. Functional. But it's also oppressively bland and devoid of character. And for a comedy fic? That's inexcusable. The fact that grammar and punctuation look okay at a glance almost makes it worse.The fic lives and dies by the sex allusions. Well, they are not even that! They are far more than “allusions”. It's good that the story is focused. I'm not really convinced that reading it was worth the time it took, and I'm even less sure that the second half of the fic still adds much, but I also can't find too much wrong with the execution of this idea. If this is your kind of humor, it's probably a very good fic for you.Sorry for posting early and/or no picture; my posting circumstances are suboptimal at the moment.
