I was stuck in a ward for 3 weeks with very little entertainment and felt like I was gonna go insane.
How did Luna spend 1000 years trapped and not somehow lose her mind to the point where she returned as a schizophrenic twitching husk?
Why do we forgive Celestia so easily? Why did Luna forgive her so easily?

>Why do we forgive Celestia so easily?
Because she's just a silly little horse
>Why did Luna forgive her so easily?
Because Luna was poorly written

>Because she's just a silly little horse
I'd say because she's hot and has a massive ass
>>
>People thinking that Nightmare Moon was literally sitting in a moon rock waiting for 1000 years
That's not how magical banishments work; her soul, essence or whatever you want to call it simply remains trapped on the Moon, as if it were cryogenically frozen for a thousand years.

>Why did Luna forgive her so easily?
After so long of Moon being at the wheel, feeling her dark companion vaporized from her by the elements and suddenly being back in control was a bit overwhelming for poor Luna

Hi Screw Loose.

I like to think she was fully conscious for 1000 years like those who were encased in stone and that Celestia is just a cruel monarch hiding behind the guise of being a cute and calm horse.

I was in a ward for a few weeks and it was great. Peace and quiet goes a long way for some people.

The lack of entertainment made me pace around every minute I was there and during my final few days I had very painful blisters on my feet, I should've smoked at the time since that's what everyone else was doing to keep their calm.

Celestia and Luna are thousands of years old. So, to Luna's perspective, a thousand years was probably a few decades. Edmond Dantès lost and regained his sanity and so did Nightmare Moon. Also, the elements purged Luna, which depending on how you interpret that, she either lost most of those memories, had the elements repair her psyche making her "okay" with having spent that much time on the moon, or it wasn't even Luna who suffered but the separate entity Nightmare Moon (If you consider NMM a dark spirit like many do)

However, I'm a fan of the occasional grimdark story that does address how torturous the moon would really be. Here's one: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/485004/deep-freeze

Didn't you have ANY sort of entertainment in there? I also spent several weeks in a psych ward one time (i am from russia so i did it to avoid conscription) and we had books there, several shelves of them. I read Dracula and some old Soviet book about early 20th century Tashkent, played chess and UNO with my wardmates and talked about videogames with one guy who was in a neighboring bed. It wasn't that bad. Come to think of it, I never talked with anyone about ponies! That's a shame, i should've mentioned MLP. Oh well.

Regarding Luna, i've always imagined that since her mind was poisoned by the malignant spirit of Nightmare Moon she already was kind of crazy when she got there, and this temporary fusion with NMM helped her to preserve her sanity.

No books, no games, nothing, just food and old slavs.

Very grim, that must've been dreadfully boring. Makes you question the way such hospitals operate, cause you aren't likely to get better from staying in a place with such conditions. What country are you from?
Also, maybe you were placed in a "serious" wing? In the hospital I stayed in there were 2 male wings, one for more moderate cases (the one where I was placed) and another one, for severe ones. Of course, we still had metal bars on the windows, orderlies all around and a strict "no sharp objects" policy, half an hour outside per day in an enclosed courtyard with supervision, but it was generally less extreme than the other one, where actually dangerous people were locked up.
Me, as well as several other guys of my age who were also evading were placed in a single ward, so it wasn't all that bad in terms of socialization.

Did some time in one myself for much the same reason. Pretty quickly realized "Awe fuck, these people are actually fucking hearing voices crazy, I'm just depressed." Fortunately the antidepressants worked really well for me and in a few months I got off of them and have been fine ever since. Did get to see some nigger try to escape from the criminally insane part of the ward and get tranq'd. Good times.
