Yeah it please the shippers but it screwed up Fluttershy's character and character development.

Though I do at least see how it's one of the many paper cuts that killed her character.Stuff like The Stare and occasional outbursts are fine in a vaccuum but detrimental when all stacked on top of each other in the same "Harr harr! She's supposed to be shy but then she acts like that!" joke. Again, it's downplaying her core character trait because the writers can't fathom the idea of shyness just being part of who someone is and eventually just turn her into Diet Applejack (see A Health of Information).I really wished they'd at least banked more on her passive-aggressive tone when she criticizes Rarity's dress in Suited For Success rather than outright exploding when pushed. It feels like later on she raises her voice way too much for it to be any special.

Everytime she has one of her little outbursts I can't help but to wish to comfort that delicate flower. I like drawing Rarity in different dresses and imagining her in a ball or grand court. I have stopped heavy drinking and being a degenerate furry because that would make her sad, let alone that's unaristocratic.
