Why didn't Equestria do a extermination progam in getting rid of Parasprites? They have no reason to be allowed to live any longer.
>>
>>43189709
They have already it's called Glimmy's flatulence.
>>
>>43189709
probably the same reason humans haven't exterminated mosquitoes

Emu wars

Why haven't we, actually?
>>
>>43191067
Because mosquitos are pollinators. The males specifically. Destroying pollinators would be one of the most if not top ten retarded things humanity can do and we already do a fuckton of retarded stuff. Parasprites though? They just seem to eat everything in sight and asexually multiply just to devour everything in sight once again.

We can pollinate plants ourselves, we do so all the time. Besides, getting rid of mosquitos will just create space for actually useful insects that will take over that task. Mosquitos serve no actual real useful purpose.

I'm actually thinking of the unconceived repercussions of eradicating an entire species from an ecosystem. Kind of like moving a pebble way upstream by just a millimeter, and then it wildly affects where the water ends up downstream in ways no one could've possibly modelled or predicted. I'm willing to bet that there's some role mosquitos play in the balance of an ecosystem that no one's aware of.

> everyone talking about mosquitos despite the fact that parasprites are a reference to locusts
>>
>>43191161
No, that's scaremongering FUD by eco terrorists. Insects die out all the time, the world keeps turning.
>>
>>43191250
There's also a fact that countries like the USA used a ton of DDT until malaria was eradicated, and only switched to other pesticides afterwards.

>humans can pollinate all the plants in the world more than mosquitos can
Yeah this might be the most braindead post on 4chan all year and thats saying something when /v/, /pol/ and /co/ exist.
>>

>Mosquitos are pollinators
Unimportant. They aren't exclusive pollinators of anything and fulfill a minor role doing it. They aren't bees. Humanity would have a net benefit exterminating mosquitos, even if it's just the handful of species that drink human blood.
>>43191161
Parasprites came from the Everfree, they probably fulfill an ecological niche there as prey for literally everything so exterminating them may actually fuck up things in there. Mosquitos on the other hand are redundant.
>>
>>43191161
Eh, maybe? They just appeared out of nowhere and disappeared into the ether once the episode ended. Given just how rapidly they reproduced they must be either the primary food source or a new addition. Did we ever see any parasprites after the episode? The Everfree might have just wiped them out.
