Had this idea of an alternate version of the story of FiM where The Crystal Empire returns before the events of A Canterlot Wedding, and due to Princess Cadence inheritance to the Crystal throne, she thus becomes their Queen and marries Shining Armor in the Crystal Empire, and the affair goes smoothly.Meanwhile, Queen Chrysalis plot to have infinite love for herself and her subjects drives her to capture and disguise as Princess Celestia. Instead of marrying Shining Armor to feed on his love, she instead begins to feast on the love of her newfound pony subjects. However, because Anon is both human (Predators have specialized pattern recognition) and an outsider, he picks up on the uncanny nature of her disguise and, after a long and arduous investigation, he manages to fight his way into her Royal Chamber to challenge her for the sake of saving Equestria.

>>43204978I'm not a writefag, far from it, but when it comes to stories I'm mostly interested on the thematic/philosophical aspects. So the theme I'm going for here is that Anon has this very rigid idea of what "Love" means, he thinks that in the world of Equestria, love is simple and abundant, and that anyone can be redeemed if loved enough (Kind of like how Twilight tries to redeem every villain she encounters, because she herself also believes love is simple and abudant). But his encounter with Chrysalis changes his in the sense that he learns that love can be selfish, destructive, and capable of doing whatever it takes to guarantee it, and that desperation is what drives Chrysalis to do what she does.But this is not the main theme of the story, I'm mostly interested on the duality between "Chosen" love and "Inherited" love. The love ponies feel towards Celestia is inherited because they are born in that world, you love Celestia because she just IS Celestia, the value is already instilled into you since birth you just respond to it. But Anon he CHOOSES to love Equestria, despite how foreign, how different it is to his own world he chooses to love it. Now Chrysalis she rules as someone who has never experienced chosen love, neither from herself, or from someone else. So Chrysalis sees love as something completely transactional, gravitational, always inherited in some sense, she only loves what feeds her, what protects her, what impresses or dazzles her. So her belief is that if she becomes powerful enough, dazzling enough, love MUST follow automatically. And... she's not entirely wrong! The ponies DO love her disguise, but the thing is that she is not really being LOVED as HERSELF, her whole scheme is kinda self-defeating in a way she doesn't really realize.
