I feel like the core problem there is that Trixie would have to show some potential for improvement for Twilight to do that and that would sorta ruin the gag you're going for.

Trixie's passion is her magic shows anyway, it makes no sense to drag her out of her career and it makes no sense to fix Trixie because Trixie being an asswipe is her whole appeal. Toxic Yuri?
