Why is G4 in China suddenly 2010s level of popular?
>>
Steppe nomad invasions made the Chinese susceptible to horsefuckery.
Compare them to """"""honorary"""""" """""""""Aryans""""""""" who prefer Brazil Girls, as they avoided getting invaded by Mongolia back in the day.

Because China bought it from Hasbro to be forced as a "lifestyle brand". There's nothing organic about this.

Kayou cards.

Kayou has been making collectible cards of multiple franchises for a while now. They've got the worst things about gacha games, casinos and streaming all encompassed in these cards.

They release card packs that are very cheap and full of random, common cards. And once they release another wave of new card packs, they NEVER reprint the old ones. Those cheap cards you bought a couple of? They might cost a lot more in a few months or years as they become rarer. That's why people buy them in packs, and hoard them.

Not only that, they have full-on events regarding them. They have streaming channels where they do card openings in stores. You can bet on the chat as the live video feed shows what cards are opened. Store clerks are trained to be half-showmen half-streamers too, as they make a huge deal of the card openings. People congregate in real life to buy card packs, but they can also pay a little extra to have their cards opened by the staff in the livestream. If they get a rare card, they have the chance to win more packs, as do those who bet on the stream. Who can then walk to the store, show evidence of them being in the stream and guessing correctly, to earn points which they can then exchange for a prize.

MLP just so happens to hit the perfect sweet spot between children show/adult collectors/autistics of all ages to fall in love with. The show is good, we all know it. And ponies have the western equivalent of moe: snowpity. Something extremely needed in a post-covid society where unemployment, hopelessness and loneliness are reaching record levels in the mainland.

这真是个非常奇怪的局面。就像你常说的“瓶中闪电”一样。但这道闪电竟在同一个瓶子里击中了两次,只不过相隔了15年。哈哈 哈哈

It's as simple as Xi Jinping simply liking My Little Pony. Der is nothing more to it.

Basically FiM became popular in America because millennials needed a good cartoon to watch in the 2010's, while FiM became popular in China because zoomers are easily susceptible to gambling tactics. That's the difference between old mare connoisseurs and young mare consoomers.

It's the year of the horse

zoomers are not that addicted to gambling anon...
