Eventually he tries some crazy magical shit to try to become an alicorn and gets his horn broken because of it.>Leaves Equestria in shame, wishing to never hear about alicorns ever again. However, due to the effects of the experiment he's immortal. Alternatively, you could just say it's because he's related to Celly.>The events of canon pass. He doesn't care about anything that happens in Equestria, knows basically nothing that went on since he's in a weird non-pony town in the middle of fucking nowhere.>What kicks off the movie is that he overhears news of there being new alicorns and gets sent into a motivated rage. He creates an army of monsters, storms Equestria and tries to absorb the power of the alicorns in order to become one himself.After writing this concept, I've realized this actually does just suck as an idea and is inevitably going to be just edgy as shit, or I just suck at writing. Seething "earth" pony driven by his need to feel special might be a bit over the top. At least you can still throw in some bullshit like defeating him with the power of friendship from HIS friends that he made in his self-banishment from Equestria.
>>43236201Dunno.Pony-lord shen doesn’t seems like a bad idea.And even the soft-edgy stile of the movie could still work in a very 80s charm, just look at 80’s Tirec and his army of monsters and corrupted ponies.The only hard thing would be to not dweel too much into the edgy territory, but making a bit more serious and epic would do wonders considering it is a MOVIE. So it has all the rights to be a little more darker than the show
