It's now a decade since this highly anticipated musical episode aired and thought we could do a small stream for it! This Sunday (17/05/2026) at 12:30pm EST (4:30PM UTC) we'll be airing the episode along with other related videos.I'm guessing the stream will last around 1.5 hours for now, but feel free to extend the queue with your own video suggestions or really just any glimmy videos. Free and easy pone hangout for the weekend /)Stream: cytu<dot>be/r/ponykinoCountdown: https://www.tickcounter.com/countdown/10319886/hearths-warming-tail-streamIn the meantime, discuss the episode here, share art/videos/fanfic, etc. You can see /mlp/'s reaction back then over here: https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/27353771/I didn't read the whole thing, but it seems like a lot of the discussion was whether the episode was just a christmas carol/grinch ripoff or comfy retelling and the rushed "be good or else" ending. And more Luna fangasm of course.
My favorite hearth's warming episode by far!
>>43244409Glimmy is CUTE!
>>4324440910/10 episode in my opinion. The "anatomically correct" version increases it even higher to 11/10.
>>43244409Should've been one of the last season 6 episodes. It happens way too early on in Starlight's arc to take seriously.
>>43244535It's perfectly fine where it is, Starlight's redemption arc is about facing and overcoming the anxieties she developed throughout her foalhood. HWT showed how lonely she was, she didn't get to grow up celebrating holidays with friends and coped by telling herself that they aren't really important and that studying magic was a better use of her time. ELTSD is a direct setup to the finale so that one has to be her last episode in the season.
>>43244535Honestly, Starlight never got redeemed.Anyone who otherwise she's better than when she started is a delusional brainlet.
>>43244671I love her redemption the most. Glimmy is a wonderful wholesome brave little pony.
>>43244671ELECTRICAL PLUGI've long looked for evidence of modern tech in Equestria, and despite the many (logically) electrical devices, I hadn't seen direct visual confirmation of an electrical grid system. But apparently this has been hard evidence the whole time, that I just never came across for some reason.
>>43244844Haha, glad you finally found what you were looking for, friend.Since pegasi and unicorns can make thunderclouds, perhaps they discovered electricity in a similar way Ben Franklin did.
>>43244885I actually had an idea for an outdated power generation method literally being a sort of "lightning extraction" from thunderclouds.Even came up with this whole concept of a "floating resort" which pioneered this power generation method in ~1880s/1890s.Unfortunately though, the power plant building caught fire, and it was noticed too late to control it. Ended up burning the whole resort down to the...cloud.Cloudsdale Power Co. learned from those mistakes and revised the process to be safer, and it served the city well, up until the 1950s when Cloudsdale got its nuclear plant online....Damn that paragraph sounds incredibly autistic.
>>43244963The culprit? Derpy's great great great grandfather.Fun and immersive world building requires a bit of autism, I like your idea that ponies had their own path in climbing the tech tree.
>>43245689Imagine eating her ass here. Nopony is able to see it as they sing and dance, Glimmy trying her best to not moan out loud.
>>43244671how'd she grow up lonely when we saw her teen bedroom at her parents house?
>>43245709You just wouldn't understand.
