The MLP fandom claims to care about artistic creativity but they supported Hasbros destruction of Faust’s vision and their 8 seasons of crap.
the only thing I make a claim of is that OP is a massive dick sucking faggot.

>>43247104I know, right? You can’t be pro-art if you support what they did to Faust’s artistic vision. They went out of their way to rape and destroy everything she created, and the people continuing to scarf down Hasbro’s turds should be ashamed.
>>43247104It was kind of hard to convince children and parents to boycott hasbro because anons dont like the direction of the show
>>43247113Sad.
Jewish and Protestant bronies didn't.
>>43247104Faust worked on season 2 and the majority of people she hired for the first season stuck around until the fifth. Also don't try to associate "Thinking some of the post-Faust seasons are good" with "Actually justifying and supporting Hasbro's handling of the franchise"I like season 4 but that doesn't mean Twilicorn was a good idea in the slightest.

>>43247434I don't necessarily disagree with the core premise, but I think the reasoning might be flawed. The 2010's did mark a shift in the ways shows would get made, slowly becoming more corporatized and homogenized until they reached the logical point of The Powerpuff Girls (2016), a creator-driven show show getting rebooted for the main purpose of selling merch where authors with a vision get pushed aside in favor of "artists" that are complete yes man to the executives. Friendship is Magic's existence would actually be the opposite of it, a victory for a creator driven era: An 80's franchise created with the main purpose of selling toys to llitle girls getting rebooted by the most beloved female cartoonist in recent history, where the artist's core vision remained (at least at the beginning), despite executive meddling. And even though it became what it was meant to destroy, that wasn't known for sure at the time the article was written.

>>43247104Faust didn't have a coherent "vision" and the mid seasons are arguably better.

>>43247489>Faust didn't have a coherent "vision"Correct.>the mid seasons are arguably better.No.
>I am so lonely…all the other Wonderbolts are scared of me. None of them talk to me, none of them want to be my friend they think I’m unstable. They send me from town to town performing flying maneuvers in their name. And as I get better at it they fear me more and more. I am a victim of my own success. Rainbow Crash. They dont even use my real name only a joke one. I am capable of so much more and nopony sees it. Somedays I get so alone I feel like i could cry but I don’t in fact I never do. Because what would be the point? I’m too awesome. >Take it to your grave.
>>43247104The mlp fandom must be one of the big fandoms that’s most critical of the source material.Try talking to a Star Wars fan, or to fans of Naruto or One Piecealso this >>43247554 and >>43247368
>>43247489>Faust didn't have a coherent "vision"The sentence is not wrong, but the quotes definitely are.Faust does have a more free-form approach to her work than someone like Tartakovsky has, but that doesn't mean she had no idea of what she wanted to make or that everything was made up by her as the show went along. Various interviews show she was very actively involved as executive producer and fought Hasbro tooth and nail to avoid them from heavily intervening on the creative department, you can clearly tell many of the quirks of the first two seasons are a result of this energetic involvement she had. with so much self-imposed work on her back, the stress forced her to assign Thiessen to assume her lead role on season 2, taking a more laid-back approach by becoming consultant producer. And even then, Faust had a very active role writing-wise according to Larson. When you take a closer look at the circumstance, Faust quitting the show might be "her fault" given the miscarriage she had at the time caused by this pressure. A lot of artists tend to see their characters as their children. While Faust did not create the Mane 6, she definitely re-interpreted them as daughters of her own. The desire to protect her artistic childs made her lose her biological one, it is quite tragic when you think about it. Now, her fictional daughter have been dead for over a decade but a real one was born and she's looking to give her the best life that she can.
>>43247577>The mlp fandom must be one of the big fandoms that’s most critical of the source materialI think it is closer to the Bethesda fandom, where older folks are way more experienced with the show's production and much more analytical of the changes in direction, while newer fans have more of a yes man attitude and they'll justify any decision made by the company before even admitting things went wrong somewhere. And if they admit it, they won't realize how this issue was already plaguing stuff they think it's good.If you ask me, the majority of the pony community outside /mlp/ fall into the second category.
>>43247104>but they supported Hasbros destructionPost evidence
>>43247606Much of what you said is hearsay and speculation though. Interviews are cool but anyone can say anything without any proof, they can be saying only what they think fans want to hear while hiding the truth. Her refusal to tell us what she had planned for Twilight says everything, she couldn't even say the thing anti-Twilicorn fans wanted to hear. The vision I speak of is that which is reflected through the show she produced. One can at least argue S1 was about the m6 learning to become friends if we ignore the premiere, but S2 definitely wasn't building towards anything, it was a directionless limbo. I sympathize with the immense pressure she was carrying with Hasbro execs, her miscarriage, and the entire fandom, but Faust had no idea where she was going with the characters or the show.
>>43247577I mean that are some Star Wars fans who talk like that when it comes to George Lucas and dismissing everything that is not episode 1-6 and TCW, the 3D one
