This comment that I Hate Everything made fun of was far from the only example of this. This is obviously a terrible comparison, since MLP obviously does not live up to the epicness or drama of Lord of the Rings in any way. I love MLP and its great in its own way of being a fun cartoon to watch with great characters, heart, and humor. It should be argued for on its own merits of being a joyful cartoon to watch and to put one in a good mood. It should NOT be argued for with retarded comparisons to properties like Lord of the Rings. Its not accurate, makes MLP look bad, and does not properly explain why one should watch the show.

I did but I was literally 12. I was disappointed he didn't like MLP, but I respected his opinion and found humor in laughing with him at the dumb replies from bronies mad at him lol
>>
>>43247140
No I think you misunderstood the comment he talks about the "epic" quests the ponies go on in the episodes. That's what his point was. So why say Lord of the Rings? Probably because he perceived MLP as medieval fantasy and LOTR is probably all he knows and even then likely only in passing doubt he watched the movies let alone read the books. He's a filthy casual basically. See the stigma of girl cartoons is that they're all slice of life with baking and tea parties and MLP FIM is "unique" because they go on adventures. Of course that isn't unique to MLP but again filthy casual what do you expect?
My point is he probably wanted to say the ponies have more personality than you'd expect and they go on cool adventures he just said it in a pants on head retarded way is all.

isn't his content just ragebait
>>
>>43247140
I see nothing wrong with the comment. He points out the show features more than just pony characters and instead is set in a medieval fantasy world containing the creatures and beast you would normally see in one. This fact causes more people who are fans of medieval fantasy (and possibly even TLoR) to like the show.

>You're thinking too hard.
>proceeds to think too hard.
It's like the Rankin Bass Hobbit movie. Kid's fantasy with kid songs. There I fixed it.

Before FiM came out MLP and it's imitators were widely regarded as the lamest, most anti-masculine concept possible, and the idea that it could have any amount of appeal to a male audience who wasn't gay or retarded > was absolutely mindbending.

I don't know ur utube literal who and I can't claim the ability to untangle his thinking patterns, but people like FiM because it's like There and Back Again. LotR is tryhard bullshit and nobody should enjoy it, or, indeed, use it as a reference point.
> and to put one in a good mood
No, you're thinking of heroin. FiM is not very good at having that effect.
> does not properly explain why one should watch the show.
Where did that come from? Not everything should be a commercial, you know.
> FiM is a commercial.
SHUT UP

This, I watched him when I was a kid but I grew out of the movie reviewer phase. Closest thing to that I watch now is RLM's Best of the Worst. Is IHE still buttbuddies with the dogfucker YMS?
>>
>>43247143
I did, but I was also young like >>43247145 says. The last four years have been almost nothing but capeshit and Destiny videos so he quickly ran out of whatever value I thought he had.

>>43247216
I enjoy medieval fantasy elements but the way FiM aped it is like third world countries aping trains and cars without all the safety regulations that's supposed to come with it. The writers sucked at implementing those elements, it's a kid's show with childrens media writers who never worked on anything complex before so I wasn't expecting actual quality on that front.

But all that said I still greatly appreciate the attempt and wouldn't have fell in love with the show without it, Equestria is a wondrous place thanks to it. Which is why I don't like EqG or Bluey since they have bland boring settings.

In the early years of the fandom you had a lot of people who were very clearly insecure about the fact that they unironically loved a show aimed at little girls that was about the magic of friendship and were afraid that they'd be called gay. So they justified it to themselves and to other people by pretending that MLP was "ackshully really frigging deep bro, it's ackshully badass it's not a kids show bro you just don't get it". I genuinely think the Twilight vs Tirek fight scene was made to cater to that specific type of brony.

Nowadays thankfully you don't see this mindset as much anymore. Most MLP fans will just tell that they like the show because it's wholesome and cute. And don't care if other people judge them for liking that
>>
>>43248443
Well stop talking about me. If I want badass I read some Fallout friggin Equestria. Not the show itself! I watch that for the colors.

>I hate everything
That guy sucked. The original reaction video was just him doing "la-la-la I'm not listening, this show sucks! La-la-la (even though only a few seconds have passed). I know the parody reactions. I like parody reactions. This was not a parody reaction, this was a guy who not wanted to be here forced himself to be here for the views, but did not even bother to try. Two follow-up videos is just him stroking his ego.
His "argument" about "one episode rule" falls apart when you realize that the first episode is a two-parter, and the show have two modes: epic adventure vs villains mode and slice-of-life-ish mode. So YES, you would need to see at least three episodes to give this show a fair shot. (While actually listening to the episode, instead of... his behaviour)
