Alright, so who do we think Last Laugh is, really? He's got the pink hair here, and he had a bit of a moment with Care Package's dad in Quarantine, but I'm torn between two options.

A: The Pony from Care Package's dad's photo
Pros: it's a relatively simple explanation using existing characters. He has dark paint under his eyes where he could be hiding the classic tamers "old man eyebags". It would make the glance he gives Care's dad more meaningful.
Cons: if he lived the entire time, he would be almost 80 now, assuming he and Care's Dad were roughly the same age at the time the photo was taken, and he's now 20 years older than Care's dad because he didn't age while dead.

B: The Son of said pony
Pros: He sounds younger than soarin from his one line in real housewives, and "give us a dab!" is not a line I would expect tamers to give to an elderly horse. It would also put him at an appropriate age to go to college, although there's no age limit at college so it doesn't prove anything. I think it would also make him a more interesting character, but that's very subjective
Cons: It requires inventing an entirely new, unknown character, which violates occam's razor. It also doesn't explain why he doesn't just speak to care's dad directly, since if they've never met there probably was no bad blood or tragic death between them. Also, this would require the pink pony to engage in heterosexual intercourse, which is unprecedented in a stallion tamers episode.

not entirely. apple bottom's mother did come onto care package's father alongside her husband in bad influence, and mr. cakes went back to his wife because sombra's a lousy lay (wedding of soarin and braeburn credits, i think) honestly, the thing with apple bottom's parents being a hint that care package's dad is actually bi and that playing into last laugh actually being his son could be an insane 4d chess move. he definitely at least recognizes care package's father considering the way that he drops his smile and looks away once package father notices him. now that i think about it, it's kind of wild how dadckage knows he's been dead and knows that apple bottom could resurrect people and we've never had an instance of that being acknowledged in relation to the (probably dead) mystery pony.

I really latched on to last laugh's design and vibe and I would rather him be more of his own character rather than a really old guy with a bunch of direct lore-dumpable baggage with care package's dad. Being younger and having only heard stories of care's dad from his deceased father gives him enough relevance to the plot without necessarily permanently tying him to the package family drama permanently.

I got inspired to do a mari and starlight one based on one of my friend's favorite songs, but it's like four minutes long. I cut a bunch of parts out and the length is more manageable but in retrospect I'm really surprised at how few high-impact mari and starlight scenes there have actually been. Most of them involve a lot of holding on still frames. I can probably make it work but I'm worried it might get a bit repetitive. Care Package's Dad. he appears in Twilight Sparkle Fights a Clown, Infection, Alicorn of Death, Bad Influence, and Quarantine so far.
