I don't see the problem with talking about you like. Complaining about it now is very childish... I only left because i already have trouble explaining my thoughts to normal people and realized you were a big sperg when you disconsidered anything about communication and team coordination as skills in vydia gaems you care about... Kek. I didn't plan to drag the convo for so long but i was really stubborn about explaining it to you and arena shooters were the best example i could find until i've realized you know barely anything about them. I have been practicing tetris from time to time and i like the game but i don't plan to go past 2pps. I don't care enough about tetris to risk the health of my hands.

I can't like the background. It's not very accurate. Mares lick their foals right after foaling to remove the amniotic fluid and membrane and stimulate the foal but it becomes very rare once the foal develops a little, as horses tend to strongly prefer nibbling and scratching with their teeth over something like licking.

Schizophrenia is when you consider other anons posting on-topic stuff to be spam when it makes up a microscopic fraction of the thread.
You schizos are funny, so I took 5 minutes to look through the previous thread and holy shit, you guys need meds.
There are only 25 images posted in the previous thread that have EQG in them, which account for only 12.20% of all the images in the thread, and just 4.87% of the entire thread.
12 of those 25 (2.34% of the whole thread) are just images posted around announcing gaming sessions; it’s natural to use screenshots from a server when talking about a server.
Of the other 13 images (2.53%), 7 (1,36%) are about anons making mlp-related mods to show the others and so we can play together, i.e. people actually making content.
2 of those 13 (0,39%) are an anon having technical issues with the modpack and sharing them to find a solution.
And the other 4 (0,78%) are anons posting screenshots of the matches they just played.
And no, there wasn’t even remotely close to a discussion about EQG or an EQG character anywhere in the whole thread, nothing.
It’s not serious to deny that you’re a schizo or an exaggerator.
Notice how none of you complain when things about the ERP VS mod get posted here, or the anthro that was just posted, or all the vidya posts that aren’t mlp-related at all (I don’t have a problem with the latter, but holy fuck, your hypocrisy). For the record: the vast majority of people who play on the server don’t give a shit about EQG, the difference is that their anuses aren’t bleeding over EQG preventing them from having fun with fellow anons in a game and server that has more pony than the TF2 server (nothing against those guys, they cool)

Did you know that you could reset your foal?
In some rare instances, the foal's birthing was too fast, and it didn't know it's alive yet.
You have to envelop it and make do a second birthing to "reset your foal" and make it understand that it is, in fact, alive and free from the womb.

>just a bit spergy when doing it.
I wasn't planning to extend the conversation so much in the first place, but i felt like i was not giving a good explanation when i said that doesn't make sense to compare the skill ceilling of tetris with something like counterstrike or a fighting game since both of them use different sets of skills in different degrees and ways. During the conversation, when it became clear that you don't consider team-based skills in a skill ceilling i've shifted to 1on1 scenarios, your original comment was 'tetris has a higher skill ceilling than shooters', i decided to use arena shooters as an example since the duel gamemode is so popular in these games. There was probably a better approach to this, because i realized you didn't know anything about timing items, map control, movement or the different kinds of aiming you need to know. Also, you were busy doing something else so i've decided to leave a clip say good-bye, since the convo was pretty much dead, and i had to go anyway. Seems pretty reasonable to me since we're completely strangers.

>seems pretty spergy, no?
Maybe, but talking about arena shooters in specific wasn't my objective. I was concerned that i couldn't explain my view on skill floor and skill ceilling and like you said you still don't think it sounded very logic. I think an easier explanation is that games with no engine limits will obviously have a much theorethical execution skill ceilling that might not even be human achievable, while some games like most fighting games (if not all of them) the players can reach near TAS or even TAS level execution. Does this make fighting games any less difficult than they are? Absolutely not. They have a very competitive 1on1 scene, and skill at high level is mostly expressed as mindgames. In team based games, like the usual FPS-Z light CTF matches that are so popular there, there are many moments where you need team coordination added to the already hard to get into high velocity, high vertical gameplay where you might need to pass a flag to an ally or shoot a chaser calculating your throw/projectile arc trajectory while midair. A little off-topic, but the most popular e-sport games are very easy to get into because the skill curve is mostly knowledge and strategy for your role in a team and the overall mechanics and advantage and disadvantages scenarios in a game. This doesn't make these games have any less of a skill ceilling, but lowers the skill floor which certaily helps a lot with new player redention.

>Does this make fighting games any less difficult than they are?
Yes? Seems like it obviously would. If you get to a point where skill isn't the determining factor of who wins then the game becomes rng. I don't think you exactly made your position clear, it kinda sounds like your saying that all games have the same skill ceiling or that it can't be compared across different genres, which isn't true.
>>
>>
>>43563451
Perhaps i am not the right person to explain this to you, as i believe i've made my point as clear as possible that skill ceilling isn't expressed just by 'execution'. If you don't know about how important mind games are in fighting games, i assume you haven't had much competitive experience in them, if any at all. I now got the impression that you have only played rhythm and puzzle games competitively. That's fine, but it's very delusional to compare the skill ceilling in different genres as they work different skills. Quakeworld has literally no limits for movement in its engine but it's impossible for a human to reach TAS level because of the nature of the exploits and how much precision them depend on your physical inputs. For me, this quirk doesn't make them have a higher skill ceilling than a fighting game or tetris, since it's very hard for a player to get close to TAS in the first place. DOOM2 optimal duel movement requires incredibly precise inputs that have only been achieved in -nomonsters map exit speedruns and on top of that, good movement makes aiming very hard. In third strike, your execution might be perfect but you might get conditioned into doing exactly what your opponent wants, and then you need to always worry about what option to select that might actually work against your opponent, and they will adapt to it mid-match. They can even parry your attack if they narrow down the timing of your actions, which is very common in higher skill levels. If these examples that have nothing to do on solely execution won't open your mind, then i don't think anything i type out will.
>>
>>43563499
Notice that in fighting games even with TAS level execution, matches aren't decided by RNG. Mashing won't get you very far independent of how good your execution is.

Update (and replies) soon, but from this play session:
>assault maps
That was really weird. There's a flag on every client UT2004.ini called "InvalidActorLimit" (default 50) under [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver], and when there's an invalid actor over that limit, you get kicked. The count's cleared only when restarting UT, so when everyone tried to reconnect after reaching the limit, they got booted immediately when the next invalid actor logged. I restarted trying to figure out what was wrong with Spike, and I presume Snooty restarted too since he was walking around, so we were fine for a while because our counts were reset. When you swapped to bombtag, it started working again since no invalid actors were being found.
As for what's making invalid actors, apparently there's too many ServerPackages. The nerd reason is when loading big resource maps like assault Acatana, the resources/serverpackage lines it pulls can't fit into a single chunk of packets, but the OldUnreal server sends chunks after the first out of order. When it's out of order, the server and client get into a bitch fight because resources don't match. Could try removing some unused/unwanted ServerPackage lines in the UT2004.ini for a fix. Couldn't find a ticket about it, https://github.com/OldUnreal/UT2004Patches/issues/45 seems like where it was fixed for retail UT2004 on server join, but the in-server invalid actor out-of-order thing is new. It can be replicated, so I'll include the slop findings (what exactly the engine does) in a slop document with the update.
>not spawning on bomb tag
Small maps didn't have enough spawn points for everyone, so you stayed dead until the next round because some fatass couldn't move fast enough. Changed so it keeps trying to spawn you regardless how long it takes.
>Spike's sperm dying on insemination
The SpikeSpecies new size scanner fucked up and tries to shrink Spike while in a vehicle, he technically doesn't have a body, so he gets spermicided after a few seconds instead. Spike is not the father.

Fug, do you hold down altfire? Might be the cause. I've added some changes, and UTComp has updated how flak works too, so hopefully it's fixed. Regarding >>43516163, the last update added a dumb full-ping delay compensation flag (up to 350ms) and changed the assault rifle grenade.

>>43517110
Last update added a whole bunch of flags that you guys recommended. I'm too much of a lazy nigger to list them all here (there's hundreds in the documentation), but Rariflag is tuning them pretty ok, last session had the invulnerable ponies.
>>43524402
>run along the sidelines of a room or a corridor
Per pony triangulation between navpoints and wall/pit probes on the map is too much, they would get stuck more too. As a compromise, there's a gunfire scatters ponies flag, though chaotic.
>>
>>43563826
I've noticed the changes. GJ. The lag compensation thing should probably take into consideration when the projectile is spawned by the client independent of his input since it would cause issues with guns that have a delay before actually firing (if there's any) and
>holding fire
I don't remember if i did, but i know sometimes i do. Should this really matter for lag compensation? I mean, even if i don't hold it, my mouse click isn't going to be pressed by only 1ms. Have you checked the q-zandronum unlagged? Might help with something if you want to fix it (maybe).
>>
>>43563826
Also the ponies being unkillable is neat but i wouldn't mind if blast damage (non direct hits) killed them as collateral damage. Overall pretty good my only issue with it is that the preloading in the start of the match takes long enough for me to make me die the first round kek. Still better than randomly freezing but i think a server limit to randomly pick like 25 ponies per map instead of 50 would help a lot. Another thing that would help the poners loading is optimizing the file for sequential data reads maybe, if that's possible.

There was a method tied to the actual alt fire click, and it got skipped if you held. May have caused an offset.
>q-zandronum unlagged
Running a compare against it now.
>>43563871
>blast damage (non direct hits) killed them as collateral damage
My personal worry with that is causality not being consistent or being more complex than needed. It is possible to do right now with both "Ponies Block Shots" and "Invulnerable Ponies" flags set to false (splash will kill them). There's also "Ponies Take Nothing", "Ponies Keep The Peace", and "Ponies Turn Mortal When Provoked" modifiers to unshootable ponies for the edge cases like crowns, weapons, and general aggression (so you're not fighting shit you can't hit, especially if they're flying with no surface to splash off).
>takes long enough for me to make me die the first round
Good to know that the asset loading was the cause of the freeze, but anon what the fuck, how is it taking that long to uncompress and stream a couple hundred megs max from disk to memory, defrag your fucking pata drive. God, shut up already you fag of the fandom! You guys will always be more insufferable than any barbiefag. They are at least actual fans instead of poseurs/larpers like you.

I enjoyed filly astray, short but cool. was there any lore on why filly was in sewers? only was dialogue I can recall in final boss which surprised me and ending.

Hey, good to see you're still alive, and thanks for keeping the server up!
Btw, I updated the Ponepaste link that I use regarding SRB2Kart https://ponepaste.org/11598
The old site (karting-vidya.me) is down, but it's still accessible through the Wayback Machine, so I guess linking that + the only 2 relevant download links should be enough for anyone to figure things out.
I'd need some help with the Linux part, though
I'm not really sure what to leave for the Linuxfags so they can figure it out; the derpy.me links you originally posted here are dead, and according to >chatGPT, someone on Linux could play by downloading the Linux assets in github, Neptune, and running the latter with AppImage or something like that, but I have no idea
>have focused more on doing L4D2 stuff recently
That sounds interesting! Any chance I could see or read about your work?
I don't have L4D2 and I've never joined you guys, so I don't really know which pony mods you guys play or what the new things are
I'd be more than happy to read about it, it's always nice

>>
>>43565153
You should go play some vidya to let out some steam. I'm sure you have backlog of games to go through.
>>
>>43565274
a windows client for a game can always be ran thru a compatibility layer using Lutris or Steam. that's how I run UT2004. only DRM or linux-unfriendly anticheat can stop that, and I'm guessing SRB2Kart doesn't have either.
mods that simply require you to place some files inside a folder should also run just fine. I've been playing Darktide with a few mods no problem, and of course putting those barbie skins into UT was braindead easy.

the only caveat to running games on top of compatibility layers, outside of DRM and anticheat, is that the changes in each compatibility layer version can affect how the game runs and if it even runs at all. for example, Proton-GE 10-15 can run Space Marine 2 very well, but it's pretty shaky on the 10-2X range. also, official updates for games can ruin the experience in a way that requires specific patches which one must look out for and acquire manually.
thankfully tho, since it's all open-source and community-developed, there will usually be someone out there who will macgyver a solution sooner or later.

gaming on linux really isn't swawsery and black magic like people seem to think, and it's easy to set up as well.

>>43565360
You should fuck off and die
>>
>>43565274
Linux people can just compile from both repositories (1.6 and Neptune) to obtain the shit they need. I don't use Linux but one of our players does, so maybe he can shine in and explain it in detail.
>I don't have L4D2
It's currently only $2 so you should probably buy it, it's a good game.
I mainly just edit campaigns in Hammer and make sure all of the plugins correctly function on the server with Sourcemod. Way more annoying for this game than something like TF2 because it's not really meant for so many people.
>>
>>43565274
Tuxfags can just get the flatpak on flathub.org, get a bin elsewhere or compile the games themselves.
>>43565361
unreal gold, ut99 and ut2004 all have native x86_64 bins for linux that work very well. Also, you should try enabling the wow64 and ntsync envvars (assuming you have atleast a 7.2 kernel with the ntsync module enabled) to see if compat problems with your new game improves.
>>
>>43565500
I'll probably look into those sooner or later. thanks. altho I already have ut2004's windows client installed and running thru Proton-GE from Lutris, so i'm in no rush to swap to the linux-native version.

It's a cool game, and probably the most active quack due to its popularity in the aiming community.

what's that?

>>43566574
The homosexuals obcessed with aiming. They have more hours on aim trainers like aimbeast (what they use if they are srs about it) than actual vydia, and spend a shitton of time practicing vampduels with the lightning gun. Some of them play games exclusively for vamp/similar hitscan duels, which i find pretty boring. They also remove literally any visuals in the game to avoid "visual clutter". Vidrel

don't they know that FPS aren't all about aim?
ffs Quake alao requires good resource management, timing, movement and (outside of duels) teamplay

that's standard for compniggers desu

You know what a true m̶e̶t̶a̶l̶l̶i̶c̶ madness is? It's when you replay the exact same level, trying to polish a score and then you look at the time and it turns out you were playing that level for hours. Me destroying a Scarab (grabber badnik from MMZ) after being grabbed by an another one was some Looney Tunes shit.
Also there's somemare who is also blue and time travelling...

Play actually good Sanic gaymes, Rakan. e.g. not Heroes

I have had this in Isaac when I try to minmax every floor for loot
one time had 30+ minutes of playtime on Downpour II thanks to Forget Me Now, shit was cash
Sad that it's difficult to fight Hush, my favorite boss, because of my playstyle
