She IS the rejection of celestia, the doing of cartoon violence, and the relationship of the main character. We're very primed to like her.For others, they just like her. The MLP fandom has always had a taste for bloodshed and creepypasta stuff, and cute mares. She's a mare, she's cute, she's got crazy eyes, and she was soaked in blood. As a group, that's what we like, and that's what she showed at a glance. Also, every year there's less pony to go around.

What makes a movie different from a regular long episode?

The movie has the plot of a movie, served up with a very familiar structure with a consistntly rising tension. It also has to introduce all the characters and concepts very quickly, from scratch. It's a little short for a movie, but didn't feel that way and it's a little long for an episode.Arson could have been a movie, but wasn't. It certainly ends in a way that is chaotic, action-packed and significant enough. It starts in the middle of already started narratives, expands on those ideas slowly, and meanders a bit rather than constantly focusing on progression. That's not that big a deal, but considering that both it and barconic are ~38 minute videos and bardonic is only barely and not technically a movie, those changes make the difference.The death of twilight sparkle is an hour long, and the first hour long one. It makes multiple allusions to its own nature as a movie within the episode. Soarin and braeburn is also an hour long with a disproportinate focus on action and some important progress for the characters as a treat. Also, it calls itself a movie, and that basically means it is a movie no matter what else happens. That's not quite true, but some real extreme justification would be required to say that an episode titled "THE MOVIE" was not a movie. Hearthswarming in manehatten is a movie because it says it is, but also because of the tradition of shitty christmas movies. The standards are simply lower when you stuff a halmark ass plot in your movie. This also means that it's a different "kind" of movie, but I think we all understand that a movie you would go see in a theater is different from a direct-to-vhs cartoon movie. They are both called movies. They are different things. And that ought to clarify where the line generally is.
