The only albums that have generated consistent discussion on this board from 2009 until now. Any thread about these albums is guaranteed at least 20+ replies at any point in the last 16 years.
All K-pop music is /mu/core
>>127476502those are albums that really peak in the genre really no point of even bothering looking for other music in that genre.
what am i doing here
>>127476502>at any pointNah some ephemeral time during the first Obama term is all that really matters.
Posting two versions of /mu/core from the golden years to compare what people considered /mu/core to be back then
Note that TVU&N was never included in /mu/core for some reason even though it was always popular.
>>127476552>Pinkerton
Remember when your board had a unique culture?
My hottest take has always been that Spiderland is bad. Could go to any shitty poetry reading with Fugazi in one earbud and get the same experience.
I can't even find the original hipster victory chart. I think that only had 6 albums under /mu/core.ITAOTS, Loveless, Kid A, ITCOCK, MBDTF, and MPP
I remember SFTB often being included
>>127476560Everything dies
this is a long shot, but does anyone still have the sharethread essentials mega folder? all the archive links to it are dead
>>127476502not including aeroplane and MPP on this list is truly /mu/core bait, gj
>>127476529only loveless unarguably belongs to a well defined genre.technically we can classify TMR as blues rock but of course it's very different from the rest, TVU&N definitely cant fix into a single genre
>>127478118No one talks about MPP and ITAOTS anymore. We don't even have Radiohead threads. Just people calling Thom a kike.
>>127476502Virtually the entire Frank Zappa catalog.
>>127476639Well, if that's your take, that means you're really dumb, anon.
2009 version was the best one. The board was almost exclusively about alternative and indie music before the tastelet contrarians ruined it and the normies started posting about Linkin Park, Trap and popsluts.
>>127482042So much landfill and dadrock. The real good /mu/ was the patrician core threads.
