>>127482936Is John Fahey classed as country music? Im kinda new to this board so idk if American primitivism is considered that
>>127482952I've never listened to him but just based on the description of his music that I read, his music is absolutely welcome in this thread! Country, to me, is an umbrella term that can refer to numerous subgenres in rural folk roots style music, and his definitely falls within that.Any recs by him? I love good picking.
I DON'T HAVE TO DO A GOD DAMN THINGBUT SIT AROUND AND WAIT TO DIE
I'm trying to figure out the new Tyler Childers album. I can't tell if it's mid or genius and each listen just deepens my conundrum.>>127482952I wouldn't say so, but you do you, brother.
>>127482984Gotta be either Sunflower River Blues or On Doing An Evil Deed Blues
I hope Sturg’s tour comes my way before he has another manic depressive episode and cancels everything
>>127483525I still haven’t seen him live. I’ve heard his shows are God-tier but I’ve already seen Billy strings on an 8th of shrooms so that might be hard to top.
>>127485699The audience videos from his last tour were amazing. He's firmly in his psychedelic southern rock jam band era.
>>127483099It is one of the catchiest albums I've ever heard. I felt familiar with every single song upon first listen in a metaphysical spiritual way.
DOWN UNDER IS FOREVER, AND A DAAAAAY
I'm finally going to get into the Judds soon
>>127485699I've snuck plenty of ganj into Billy shows and lit up in heroic fashion, but have yet to try it on shrooms. That must be a godly experience. I hope to get the chance to do it someday.
>>127488275This is one of the ones I don't get. It's a good song and damn near power pop, but I just think lyrically it's slop. It's a pretty good album with a lot of cool sounds, but it's genuinely confusing to me.
>>127489283It was insane man. Me and a couple buddies ate them in the airbnb we were staying in. Took an uber over to the venue, and by the time we got in I was vibing. Then the lights came in and he opened with "On the Line" and shewwww brother.>>127489330The song has a deeper meaning, I think. It's about drug addiction and the lengths that he'll go through to "get his heart racing" instead of chasing those drug-induced highs. So he wrote a whole song about basically being in sensory overload in Australia, a place that is known for having a lot of weird deadly animals. At the very least it's a humorous, Prine-esque song about Australian wildlife. At its core, there is a meaning, though it's easy to get lost in the infectious jamming and not think about it like that.
