Joe Rogan just played a clip of Rick creating an AI song on his show and called it "really fucking good" and better than human-made pop songs.
Is he right?

>>
I love artificiality and soulnessness
>>
>>127493156
yeah, I like rap and pop too
>>
>>127493093
Rogan is a Kiss fan (maybe like >>127493179) so I don't quite value his opinions on music
>>
>>127493093
AI is good in that it'll destroy all of the shit passing for music atm. That's even worse than AI because of all of these hacks are self-important and fronting like they're all the next coming of Jesus. Then disappear..only for the next new Jesus comes. On top of half of you retards constantly spamming them as the next coming of Jesus yourselves.
The best thing that could happen is that everything just goes up in flames. Only AI will be left and it'll be soulless, and without any pretensions of being important.
>>
>>127493179
kek this.
>>
>>127493093
Yeah the vocals and reverb alone are clearly night and day in quality compared to a year ago, which in a way doesn't matter because the people who will most successfully leverage AI will treat it as a songwriting/production tool and not an all-in-one song generation machine. The chorus melody is already very strong and all it takes is small bit of reorganization and lyrical changes for it to be transplanted into an "original" song.

At the end of the day all it does is what human songwriters naturally do, just far faster and cheaper. I don't see how this doesn't take over the music industry. And lol at all the rick viewers who think pop music is the only genre that can be replicated like this, as if it won't be just as easily able to make beatles or led zeppelin knockoffs
>>
Rogan is such an AI shill it's insane but I guess it makes sense because he's pretty retarded.
>>
>>127493295
It won't kill music entirely. It'll kill the mystique and celebrity (i.e. bullshit) revolving around music.
It'll probably be a long while until it does it to other mediums like film. I hope I get to see that. Vidya will be the least affected..or even improved.
>>
>>127493093
its fucking terrible and about as generic as it gets. has zero personality while retreading tired modern cliches with absolutely nothing to say
>>
>>127493295
>I don't see how this doesn't take over the music industry.
I’m not buying vinyls or concert tickets for fucking robots.
>>
>>127493394
Same with a lot of music made by humans. Except you're constantly getting shilled that it's the greatest/bravest/most landmark accomplishment since sliced bread.
What do you think is better? The shit that knows it's just shit? Or the shit trying to tell you it's revolutionary?
>>
>>127493400
You have a cartoonish understanding of how this will play out. You picture a robot on a stage with AI-generated music playing back over the speakers. In reality, human artists will continue to exist except the music they release will have varying amounts of AI-influence in it and you'll have no way of knowing, and they'll have no way of falsifying it either.
Just as you could listen to ten death metal songs now and take aspects of each that you like and incorporate them into a new song, you'll be able to generate ten AI songs with any specific descriptions you want and use those as influences instead. Enjoy
>>
>>127493417
>What do you think is better?
i think music made by humans is better because humans have created all the genres we currently have right now. AI will NEVER create anything novel on its own. it can't by design. it's missing that spark of human ingenuity that it will never have.
>>
>>127493474
>you'll have no way of knowing, and they'll have no way of falsifying it either
If their hand movements on the guitar don’t match the sounds it makes, I’ll know, and very easily.
>>
>>127493493
Really hope you're pretending to be retarded
>>
>>127493394
You just described nearly all modern music made after the year 2005.

Because society reached such a high level of comfort and luxury, no one can write or sing anything meaningful because they've had no struggle or real challenge in their life.
>>
>>127493506
Cope botlover no one’s buying your fad
>>
>>127493523
You are aware that musicians are able to perform music that they didn't write themselves, correct?
>>
>>127493527
You are aware that that question is completely irrelevant to the conversation?
If someone plays real instruments, people will know if they’re legit or not. All AI will do is just make laptop concerts less profitable since everyone knows most of them will be fake.
>>
>>127493536
Oh okay so you're unironically a retarded boomer. Makes sense
>>
>>127493549
Cope botlover no one is buying your fad
>>
>>127493093
Sounds competent. I don't really like or listen to this genre of music, but if you played it alongside similar songs made by humans, I don't think I would be able to tell, that it's generated by AI. Maybe I would even think it sounds better, idk.
>>
>>127493491
You aren't wrong. I just think humanity itself needs to be kicked down a notch for the industry around it has built around music. Not the artistry. But industry. All of the other bullshit that's surrounds music/pop culture - the business side and the celebrity - has become beyond tedious. AI is the cure.
>>
>>127493491
>AI will NEVER create anything novel on its own.
I'm curious why you think that. There are definitions of the word "novel" you could use, which coupled with the understanding of some fundamental limitations of machine learning could make a compelling case. But that's never what people who make these kinds of arguments do, because they have no idea what they're talking about.
>it can't by design.
Again: how? Tell me.
>>
>>127493522
>muh struggle and challenge
music sucks because culture warrior gangsters occupy the industry
it takes less than a year to become technically competent and a fully functional musician capable of executing a vision
>>
>>127493400
>vinyls
>>
>>127493093
Fuck off, retarded AI cultist pajeet
>>
>>127493672
>I'm curious why you think that.
because i understand how LLMs work, what they're good at and what they aren't. not unsurprising AI-jeets like yourself don't understand them, i've noticed this a lot.
>>
>>127493951
not surprising*
>>
>>127493951
>because i understand how LLMs work
The music-generating models aren't LLMs. Maybe if you want to generate lyrics, but it's not what's used for the song itself. Try again.
>>
>>127493491
>AI will NEVER create anything novel on its own
neither will 99% of people
>>
>>127493989
lol just stop talking man. you don't know anything about the technology that you shill for free
>>
>>127493093
>joe rogan posts a clip
>of rick beato compiling clips
>of AI slop that gets trained on clips
>>
>>127494387
So you don't know what you're talking about, as I predicted in my original post. Somehow I find it totally unsurprising.
>>
>n-no u!
enough pajeet. go back to cranking out your soulless slop to rock out in your favela to
>>
There hasn't been a good album released in the 2020s so why should I give a shit if it ruins the industry? Fuck em all
>>
>>127493093
it's about as good as Rogan's comedy
>>
>>127494052
Wrong, everyone’s voice is unique.
>>
This isn't a comment on AI.

This is a comment on how soulless and formulaic shitpop is.
>>
Call me when it can make full consistent songs and not just 15 second clips that jump around
>>
>>127495866
ok ill call you in 2 weeks
>>
How much money does joe have invested in AI?
>>
>>127493093
Rick Beato owes me sex
>>
>>127493590
maybe it'll do the opposite, only the celebrity frontperson with industry marketing power to push them above the noise floor will remain if craft is equalized and the music itself may as well be prompted
it'll kill enthusiasm for music as art and musicians below industry plant level though
>>
>>127495866
haven't they had that ability for a couple of years now, youtube is choked with full length slop songs/albums
>>
>>127493214
>Only AI will be left and it'll be soulless, and without any pretensions of being important

That's already happened and humans are being farmed for souls.
>>
That’s what’s funny about music, the simplicity is better with a bit of variation, try telling that to a composer

Let's hear one of Rick's songs
>>
I bet a good singer could just rip SUNO AI instrumentals, sing over the top following the main song track and make it further than most
>>
>>127497405
Some definitely are I bet
>>
>>127497259
You know what's funny is i recently saw a Rick beato video where he talked about trying to start a record company with this guy and he was explaining about these incredible groups they recorded and I checked it out and it was about as boring and generic as that AI slop
