Live at the New Morning is an amazing pick, best Spacemen 3 recording easily, they were always at their best as a heavy garage drone band rather than the jesus-pop stuff. What a record man.

I haven't posted in one of these in ages. I redid mine from scratch. I'll try to make a 5x5 version for future threads.

Best in the thread by far. Most of these are good, especially Black Sabbath and Cream and Deep Purple. I was also a huge fan of Blue Cheer growing up. I'll check out Burning Witch and Sleep and maybe Parson Sound.

Burning Witch is extremely punishing heavier than god black acid void doom metal, very sabbathian at its core despite being all sorts of fucked up.

Parson Sound is how people describe the "drone" side of the velvet underground but it actually delivers. Free jazz-tinged drone jamming over the fattest bass grooves and the entire 2 hours of material is all in D

Sleep is Black Sabbath for the 90s in the best way possible.

Great chart dude, one of the best I've ever seen in one of these threads. Gate-Handful of Dust-Galbraith-Drones-AC/DC-Feedtime, are you from AU/NZ? Feedtime played this random one-off gig at the Marrickville Bowlo in Sydney two years ago for the first time in years, the turnout was pretty sparse but man were they intense, even for old blokes.

Yeah I like the post-Parson Sound bands, I really love Trad Gras Och Stenar all along the watchtower in particular but none of it comes even close to the void worm of Parson Sound.

You should totally check out that VCO album and then the entire rest of their massive discog because they're one of the best bands ever. Versatile Arab Chord Chart, The Momentary Aviary, Pontiac Lady, and Lino Hi are highlights. Also goes well with the other UK rainbow-psych-drone guys like Sunroof! and Ashtray Navigations if you're not on those already.

Yeah I'm from Tas, been really trying to dig into Antipodean shit lately. feedtime at the bowls club sounds fucken awesome. Glad to hear the old fellas can still rip.

And yeah parson sound was always my favourite but I've got a soft spot for Sov Gott Rose-Mari.

Thanks for the recs on VCO, I think I heard about them reading an interview with Bruce Russell, I'll be digging through them soon. And im still yet to check Ashtray Navigations and sunroof.

It's hard to rec you anything cos I assume most things that come to my mind you'd have heard but Baby Grandmothers might be worth checking out for some more heavy psych. And Thela is a decent NZ noise rock drone project that went under my radar for too long if you haven't heard them. The spoils of war some 60s psych weirdness?

Sorry, not exactly my kind of jam. Too disjointed and wandering for my taste. I'm a simple man, I prefer more tight things like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIqXprCArdo or this https://archive.org/details/4.-poong-mool-nori-taepyongso-sinawi/4.+Poong-Mool+Nori+%26+Taepyongso+Sinawi.mp3
