>>127569113I'm not getting anything with a trem again. It's just too much of a pain in the ass. >>127569177Maybe, I dunno. It's one of those fancier bentons with stainless frets and Wilkinson trems. The thing actually arrived with one trem post screwed in lower than the other lol. I really regret getting the trem version because the rest of it is great. The neck feels so good, roasted maple smooth satin. Frets were completely unpolished though.
>>127569273You can always lock it if you don't want to deal with all the minute adjustment
>>127569186As far as digital goes, it probably sounds good since it's one effect at a time. Less effects at once = all cpu time dedicated to one. It's a good way to randomly insert effects on the fly that you may not have wanted to spend on for a full pedal. Like a phaser or tremolo. Then if you want, you always have an SD1 or DS1 on tap.
For $264, that isn't bad. The only other hq one-effect-at-a-time thing I know of is the Eventide H9, but it's $600.
>>127569186for the same price you can buy a katana. lol
>>127569288I wanted to deck it but the trem posts won't go down low enough for the bridge to rest on the body so I had it angled back this whole time. I will most likely drop a piece of wood in there to keep it in place just to make it easier on myself. I do have this fantasy where I hack it up, fill the trem holes and turn it into a V but who knows if that'll happen.
>>127569336It's a good addition to a katana. The effects in that pedal would be better than the katana. The problem with digital and multi-effects is throttling and not enough dsp for good quality for multiple effects at once. They'll sound a little tinny once you start stacking things. Or they're shit from the start. It's the reason why all of those zoom pedals we grew up sound like shit. It's no different than you trying to run a new game on a piece of shit laptop and it reduces it to the worst textures.
>>127569186>can only run one effect >can hold 16>only comes with 8 and you need to download an app to get moreFucking why? Boss already has multifx that are better than this thing on arrival. And it has microtransactions too?
>>127569430OK, that sucks. Didn't know that bit.Although I doubt most of their multi-effects units have better effects except the GT-1000. You're not going to get the best effects in cheap multi-fx units, unless you reduce them to a small number of options at a time. Same reason why Eventide's stuff is so expensive. Or Line 6 will sell those stompbox units by themselves.
>>127569430>japs first to hop on the dlc train for guitar shit you hate to see it

>>127569414>The problem with digital and multi-effects is throttling and not enough dsp for good quality for multiple effects at once. They'll sound a little tinny once you start stacking things. This hasn't been a problem for a while, even the new Zoom pedals have a strong enough DSP to run 3-4 without issues on top of a built in tuner.

>>127569824i think another big thing especially in all modern writing is that you're already supposed to have the feelings the writers want you to regarding the character without ever having written or done anything to make you have those feelings. respect is earned, not given
>>127569850I don't even remember the last movie I enjoyed. Some TV, I guess.
>>127569850It's what happens when media forcefully gets categorized on whether it "supports my political view" or not.So now encountering something different is no longer "I don't like it", it's "this problematic and should not exist and you are bad for doing or liking it".The latter makes it so much easier to have others listen to your random opinion because now you present yourself as a victim instead of what you are actually doing: shouting another useless opinion into the void. This leads to writers also pivoting and just have their characters support or oppose real world Tagespolitik instead of overarching political/philosophical concepts. Because if you don't like that it now makes you a bad person who clearly hates what the media supposedly represents instead.

My Charvel used to be ace in its first 4 years but the bone nut wore out twice and the posts are now leaning. Honestly, is this the best deal on a cool vibe tele? I'm not too big of a fan of butterscotch, but I think after a little wear from usage, I'd like it. I have never used Sweetwater's gear exchange. Admittedly new to all this shit, hence why I'm so indecisive.

Been working through Absolutely understand a gay for awhile and working on memorizing modes. Uh.... is there a better resource to get to fuck with and have a better framework to make metal riffs with? I feel like I'm just memorizing the fretboard and differing scale mode steps at this point and I'm farting around but that's it.

If they had told me up front it’d be a month or more instead of just a week I wouldn’t have bought it.

>>127571667I've watched a few videos, it doesn't seem bad on the face of it, I'm playing for myself but don't want to have to patch into my PC and fire up reaper or a bajillion NAM profiles everytime. With this it seems like an easy way to practice and dick around.

because they're cheaper. next question.
Have a great day, /gg/ bros.
>>127574068>if you like how the 50's neck profile feels, go for itdesu I've never tried one. I'd go to a guitar shop, but I don't drive and they're an hour away. Only thing I've played is an early model Ibanez Gio. I don't even think they sell the version I have anymore. When I had the 60's with the Bigsby, the neck felt alright besides all the issues. I don't really feel like I had enough time with it though.

>>127574357They are both the same notes; G, D, C
Technically speaking, every time you play an inverted chord you change the key of the song, yes?
>>127574656I don't know. What does it matter if the D is higher or lower than the C?
>>127574656No...
>>127574656Well, it does sound different, but there is no fixed Ds, right? It's relative to the other notes. You can tune your guitar an octave higher and still have the same Ds in the same positions but they will sound higher.
>>127574656The biggest thing I got learning more theory recently is that every mode is basically a venn diagram of neighboring modesEspecially with scales, f lydian is like c ionian or some shit
>>127574686it changes the harmonics that you can hear
>>127574708F Lydian is the same NOTES as C Ionian, but it's not the same as C Ionian, because in F Lydian, the tonal center is the note F, whereas in C Ionian the tonal center is the note C.
>>127574708The modes of the major scale means you play the same notes, but always starting from another note in THAT major scale. There are 7 modes therefore, because there are 7 notes in a major scale. C ionian has the same notes as F lydian, correct.
>>127574710So what is the answer here? What do I need to know, if anything?>>127574626>>127574357
>>127574597I actually only recently listened to his stuff for the first time. Despite knowing his name for a long time turns out I never heard a song of his and always imagined something completely different.I must admit I really missed out, despite him obviously being one of the most skilled guitarists of all time he is also a highly impressive composer/arranger given how he manages to fill the sound with a single guitar + bass + drums while also being a good singer.Still sounds fresh and unique to my modern prog infested brain.
>>127574686Changes the root note = changes the key.simple as.
>>127574728>>127574721Yep, and it really trips me up still because if there's a chord change from C to F, I could theoretically just rehome to f while playing the same shifted pattern, no?Scotty's AUG pdf has some explanations about the steps and the charts showing how some steps are now flat across the change helps.
your changing the roit of the chord of course its gonna sound different dude the lowest note, the middle note, and the highest note are different
>>127574762>>127574815So how can I use the knowledge that Csus2 has the same notes as Gsus4?
what makes a note a root note anyways
just play the roit notes bassy
>>127574838its the lowest note of a chord come on now
>>127574845How do you know it's not inverted if you don't have the sheet music?
>>127574835its an inversion with a different root. just because they have the same notes doesnt mean they sound the same. a C major in one octave is different than a C major in a higher octave.
>>127574838It's the I of the key.
>>127574853inverted or not you can call it a type of chord from whatever the root isidk maybe every chord is an inversion of some other chord you ever think abojt t
>>127574845You're thinking of a bass note, a root can be any note in the voicing.
>>127574856Yes, they feel different even though they are the same. Ok, so I go by that. Also, lowest note is the de facto and de jure root.
>hi, i'm phil. and it's time to know your gear
>>127574865inversions are gay just call the lowest note the root and then use semitones from the root to the other notes to define the chord why we dont just have a special name for a minor 3rd and augmented fifth triad and instead just call it a first inversion major triad i don't fucking know why the fuck dont we call it an augmented minor chord
Watching Jake Lizzio's harmonic minor modes video. The names are the same as the names for the modes of the major scale, except with sharpened or flattened 6ths, 7ths etc.

One more question. When I play a A powerchord, then a F powerchord, I can solo on the A minor pentatonic. Why does it sound so good? Is it because the F note is missing from the A minor (aeolian) and it sounds like it completes it? Because F is not part of the A minor pentatonic.
>>127575885true it's not but A is the 3rd (harmony) of the F

>>127575987Why would I buy a multi effects pedal with just one switch?
>>127575987No amp modeling, IR-2 mogs it
>>127575885If you play A Minor Gin&Tonic over F, you are playing the 2nd (9th), 3rd, 5th, 6th (13th), and 7th against F. If you changed that 7th (the E note) to an F (Root over F), you'd be playing a complete F Major Gin&Tonic scale over F.
>>127576239now play the Fmin pentatonic over A hehe
