I forgot how light Teles are supposed to be after having only played my rosewood one for the last year. I like this guitar a lot, it sounds great and really feels great with just enough (fake) wear to the back of the neck that it feels nicely broken in without looking like it’s just been hit with some sandpaper

You oil your fretboard only if the guitar you just bought has a bone dry fretboard, in which case you, if you're more of a collector than a player, can apply some oil. Otherwise the oil from your hands is more than enough.

Guess you're condemned to play only with a pick and a slide then. Your fingers are only good for stuffing them up your butt, 3 at a time. Lemon oil is nothing more than lemon scented mineral oil. Mineral oil which clogs the pores of your fretboard, inhibiting the process of natural moisture release and absorbtion in wood. But it's not really my problem how you treat your shitplanks or what snake oil a marketing department has managed to convince you to buy.

you should already be adding embellishments during your playing if you feel it. even if it means stopping and taking 15 minutes to figure out how to play it and another 30 minutes practicing executing it. as far as writing complete songs and stopping practicing, idk

I'm not getting anything with a trem again. It's just too much of a pain in the ass.

>>127569177
Maybe, I dunno. It's one of those fancier bentons with stainless frets and Wilkinson trems. The thing actually arrived with one trem post screwed in lower than the other lol. I really regret getting the trem version because the rest of it is great. The neck feels so good, roasted maple smooth satin. Frets were completely unpolished though.
>>
>>127569273
You can always lock it if you don't want to deal with all the minute adjustment
>>
>>127569186
As far as digital goes, it probably sounds good since it's one effect at a time. Less effects at once = all cpu time dedicated to one. It's a good way to randomly insert effects on the fly that you may not have wanted to spend on for a full pedal. Like a phaser or tremolo. Then if you want, you always have an SD1 or DS1 on tap.
>>
For $264, that isn't bad.
The only other hq one-effect-at-a-time thing I know of is the Eventide H9, but it's $600.
>>
>>127569186
for the same price you can buy a katana. lol
>>
>>127569288
I wanted to deck it but the trem posts won't go down low enough for the bridge to rest on the body so I had it angled back this whole time. I will most likely drop a piece of wood in there to keep it in place just to make it easier on myself. I do have this fantasy where I hack it up, fill the trem holes and turn it into a V but who knows if that'll happen.
>>
>>127569336
It's a good addition to a katana. The effects in that pedal would be better than the katana.
The problem with digital and multi-effects is throttling and not enough dsp for good quality for multiple effects at once. They'll sound a little tinny once you start stacking things. Or they're shit from the start. It's the reason why all of those zoom pedals we grew up sound like shit. It's no different than you trying to run a new game on a piece of shit laptop and it reduces it to the worst textures.
>>
>>127569186
>can only run one effect
>can hold 16
>only comes with 8 and you need to download an app to get more
Fucking why? Boss already has multifx that are better than this thing on arrival. And it has microtransactions too?
>>
>>127569430
OK, that sucks. Didn't know that bit.
Although I doubt most of their multi-effects units have better effects except the GT-1000. You're not going to get the best effects in cheap multi-fx units, unless you reduce them to a small number of options at a time. Same reason why Eventide's stuff is so expensive. Or Line 6 will sell those stompbox units by themselves.

This hasn't been a problem for a while, even the new Zoom pedals have a strong enough DSP to run 3-4 without issues on top of a built in tuner.

Fully agree.
It's the same with anything dei really.
We used to have black characters like Dudley or Barrett in games. And those were cool.
Nowadays being black has to be their whole personality.

Female characters used to be hot and do their thing. Now they are women and not much else and their whole deal has to be "le women struggles" as sanctioned by feminists.
>>
>>127569824
i think another big thing especially in all modern writing is that you're already supposed to have the feelings the writers want you to regarding the character without ever having written or done anything to make you have those feelings. respect is earned, not given

It's what happens when media forcefully gets categorized on whether it "supports my political view" or not.
So now encountering something different is no longer "I don't like it", it's "this problematic and should not exist and you are bad for doing or liking it".
The latter makes it so much easier to have others listen to your random opinion because now you present yourself as a victim instead of what you are actually doing: shouting another useless opinion into the void.

This leads to writers also pivoting and just have their characters support or oppose real world Tagespolitik instead of overarching political/philosophical concepts. Because if you don't like that it now makes you a bad person who clearly hates what the media supposedly represents instead.

Wear and tear fucking up tuning does happen with floating bridges, even the expensive ones. My Charvel used to be ace in its first 4 years but the bone nut wore out twice and the posts are now leaning. Usual problem is the nut if it's not the locking type - it might not have been cut correctly or just needs some lubrication. I lubricate the knife edge and posts on the bridge too. You could polish the frets yourself as well, it will feel better. Lotsa guides on youtube

I can see them only producing a "blank" pedal from now on. You pay a subscription fee, you will have 10 of those blank pedals and you load each one with an effect of your choice that's included in your subscription.
>>
>>127571687
What's stopping people from idk, just buying analog pedals again if it's going to be that expensive
>>
>>127571729
Nothing. No one is really forcing you to buy these things.

What irks me about this is the waste. You have the technology to incorporate all of those effects into 1 physical unit, saving resources and making it more convenient. Yet despite that, they are taking the opposite route, only because it's new. It's a perverted obsession with iterating through every possible combination of products to try and generate profit. You don't have to be a hardcore environmentalist or anti-capitalist to be disgusted by this behaviour. Any sane person should feel disgusted and gypped when they get offered something like this.

Changing the potentiometer values can change the brightness and taper of their spin. You can mod other controls to do something different or add electronics to the control cavity.

The biggest thing I got learning more theory recently is that every mode is basically a venn diagram of neighboring modes

>>
>>127574686
it changes the harmonics that you can hear
>>
>>127574708
F Lydian is the same NOTES as C Ionian, but it's not the same as C Ionian, because in F Lydian, the tonal center is the note F, whereas in C Ionian the tonal center is the note C.
>>
>>127574708
The modes of the major scale means you play the same notes, but always starting from another note in THAT major scale. There are 7 modes therefore, because there are 7 notes in a major scale. C ionian has the same notes as F lydian, correct.

I must admit I really missed out, despite him obviously being one of the most skilled guitarists of all time he is also a highly impressive composer/arranger given how he manages to fill the sound with a single guitar + bass + drums while also being a good singer.

One more question.

When I play a A powerchord, then a F powerchord, I can solo on the A minor pentatonic. Why does it sound so good? Is it because the F note is missing from the A minor (aeolian) and it sounds like it completes it? Because F is not part of the A minor pentatonic.

For someone wanting an amp that will help them achieve Hybrid Theory/Meteora tones, but doesn’t quite have the money for a mesa boogie, what amp should they go for?
Fender 30r?
