What is the best program to listen to music with?

Are you asking the question or are you answering it?

Is there a good linux alternative to foobar?
>>
>>127575648
probably both. But what is the best one in your opinion?
>>
>>127575672
Foobar.
>>
f2k for Windows, Deadbeef for Linux.
>>
>>127575669
Virtual machine running Windows with Foobar2000 installed.
>>
>>127575707
Foobar works perfectly fine in Wine, literally no need for VM. But Deadbeef with a couple of plugins satisfies most of my f2k needs. Audacious is fine too. Clementine is also decent, but a bit bloated and has rather slow development, same for its fork Strawberry.
>>
>>127575558
AIMP
>>
>>127575669
there is no alternative period, run it in wine
>>
>>127575669
Strawberry is what i use on Linux
>>
>>127576945
Are they moved to Qt6 already?
>>
>>127575558
Spotify
>>
>>127577028
Honestly no idea i just install from the Arch/Manjaro packages and it plays nice with jack low latency server which i need when i'm playong guitar. Used to use FooBar
>>
>>127576945
I don't especially like Strawberry but I can't find anything better.

MusicBee is a viable alternative. It reminds me of a pre-tweaked Foobar2000, in that it displays album art in a grid natively and can take Last.FM credentials too. I have autistic things that I’ve customised my Foober to have, but for anyone looking for a good looking music player with lots of pre-existing skins, Musicbee is nice.
>>
>>127576945
Can it scrobble?

Foobar MOGGED niggerfree fags
>>
Musicolet
>>
2010 iTunes because it has the best version of coverflow.
>>
>>127575558
I used to use foobar like 10 years ago when I actually cared about getting into new music and ricing my media player and shit. But as I got older I stopped giving a shit and switched to musicbee after reinstalling Windows once because it just werks and I don't care anymore.

What is this, 2007? Nowadays 8 GB of RAM for desktop is a must, and anything that cannot do that should be either promptly retired or used for other tasks.

>>127580581
Became irrelevant 20 years ago. Besides, F2K is actually developed by one of the former Winamp devs.
>>
MusicBee is comfy and doesn't look like it's from 1998
>>
Windows: Foobar

Linux: Strawberry

macOS: Dunno, the only time I listen to music on my Mac is my own stuff I'm making
>>
Oh and Android: GoneMAD
>>
>>127578082
I don't but I'm pretty sure I remember the options to login to last.fm in the settings.
>>
>>127578311
Mine is using 219MB RAM right now, playing music
>>
>>127577644
why do you spend any amount of time looking at your music player?
>>
>>127580581
piece of shit memory hog
>>
>>127582924
I need to in order to select the music I'm going to listen to.
>>
i use foobar with default settings when im not using my web browser to listen to music on youtube. my foobar tends to use 24mb of memory when playing, it has a very easy time handling massive media libraries spred over multiple hardrives, some of them only turn on when i use them but it handles that really well when searching through them . i tried winamp out of morbid curiosity and it would use crazy amounts of memory and have issues handling many hard drives worth of music
>>
>>127582929
Not if you use Winamp 2. But if Winamp 5 is taking up too much memory you are probably dirt fucking poor living in Eastern Europe or India running your shit on some old Celeron.
>>
>>127575903
I run foobar in wine only to do audio conversions. It looks ugly as fuck.
>>
>>127582975
kek that's kinda what I like about it, there's an old school really basic theme it ships with, all dark with green text, like some 80s PC. I love it.

Spotify. STFU.

The only thing more embarrassing than using Spotify would be paying for it. But if you don't pay for it and someone passes you the aux they will know you are poor as shit when the ads come on. A real dilemma there. I pay for Apple Music but I rip ALAC files from it then convert them to FLAC so I can play them in whatever player I want, alongside all my pirated music.
>>
>>127583367
Spotify eh? Well, use Firefox and UBlock Origin and you can have premium for free.
>>
>>127575669
I'm fine with rhythmbox honestly
>>
>>127583414
It sounds like shit in the browser though. I got the keys to decrypt those files and put them into a spectrum analyzer before. I was not impressed.

It's not like I want you to have an extensive collection of lossless audio like I have anyway. I want you to listen to Spotify on your iPhone. If everyone did the things I did they would stop being special and I couldn't talk shit about everyone else.

>>127583504
It's not my URL. If that makes you violently rage you have your priorities all mixed up. I bet I could pretend to be a zoomer and bait you into getting so mad you suicide. Malfunctioning human beings like you are so funny.

MusicBee on PC and Musicolet on Android, or a Revanced patched Spotify if I'm feeling lazy

Imagine the inferior breeding stock that produced a "man" who gets angry about a website TLD. Imagine the disgusting fetid cunt he got shit out of. Imagine the loser of a "man" he calls his father passing his genes to that wretched disgusting whore. This subhuman fucking nigger wants to snap someone's neck about a website. Hahaha Imagine what would happen if this genetic malfunction, this failed excuse for a "human" took roids. This nigger would probably decapitate a 7-11 worker for giving him back his change too slowly while he was purchasing chewing tobacco. Imagine the motherfucking smell. Imagine the living conditions. Haha lmao.

Despite the lack of playlisting I use Aural on Mac because you can use high quality AU EQ plugins to optimize headphone listening.
>>
>>127585088
I did this for a while with Dolphin. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I still eventually went with Strawberry.
>>
>>127575558
You don't need a program to listen to music you can just use your ears.
>>
VLC, it just werks
>>

musicbee is better than foobar in literally every way
foobar is for sunk cost autists who feel too attached to it to switch to musicbee

I mean I don't spend time looking at it. I choose an album, start it, then minimize it. Plus I just never liked Night mode with anything really.
>>
I switched to primarily streaming in 2018 but I still keep my mp3 library in MusicBee as a museum of sorts. I do the actual listening through Plexamp though for mobile support. I'm rarely at a desktop anymore.

I started building my own music player some years ago, but forgot to finish it.
I had plans to add the playlist functionality too.
Just remembered and opened it now. This must have been at least 10 years when I built it.

Anyway, I think I'll eventually build my own player in a browser window.
Did you know you can browse your local files and play them in the browser too? Without even a player.
>>
>>127575558

We call them apps now, unc

>>127587520
True, but depending on the composer, you might be confused
>>
>>127580581
Stopped using it when I saw it had no proper video player, instead it had a separate window that would appear in random places
>>
I like AIMP because you can hide it so that it doesn't show up when alt tabbing
>>
aimp on desktop
musicolet on phone
