I'm getting into emo, what are your guys' favorite emo albums? Pic related are my favorites so far.

>>127600866Excellent picks. I think Corea should make a reunion album, it might have the Swans effect and would make them insanely popular online.
>>127600866mineral - power of failing & endserandingjejune - junklife - we wont say a word until tomorrow love lost but not forgotten - upon the right i saw misery
>>127600939they are emomore on the emoviolence side of things of course but nonetheless emo
>>127600866
>>127600866I don't listen to much "real emo" but the get up kids' first two albums (four minute mile and something to write home about, respectively) are a must. Jimmy eat world - ClarityThe Promise Ring
>>127604070>The UsedBasola
>>127604070Based fucking taste anon. Cursive and Thrice never get the love they deserve. Silverstein are underrated and that Finch album is a 10/10.
I really can't get into Clarity, but I loved Futures and Bleed American
>>127604705I love all three but I have to be in a very specific mood for Clarity. Bleed American is just a fun listen and Futures might be my favorite Jimmy album. Perfect fall/winter all too.
>>127601027Thursday is amazing, I missed their last tour but I'll see them with Silverstien later this year.
I recommend Lies For The Liars and Toxic Positivity by The Used. I also recommend Juturna and On Letting Go by Circa Survive.
>>127604939They're legit one of my favorite bands ever. Basically grew up as the band evolved and it was such a cool thing to be a part of. They've shaped my taste in music so much. Love how they're simultaneously incredibly influential and underrated at the same time. Silverstein fucking rules too. Shane's voice has aged like wine.
What are some good screamo albums similar to the ones in the OP?
>>127600866Thanks for reminding me of that Corea record. Haven't listened to it in years
>>127604995Those Circa Survive albums go so hard>>127605031As the Roots Undo. You might like Envy too. Same goes for The Sound of Animals Fighting.

Highly recommend this if you like Orchid.

>>127600866Before going onto international notoriety and opening for big bands like Jimmy Eat World, At the Drive-In and Cursive, Hokkaido's Eastern Youth shook up the Japanese underground as part of the emerging Samurai Spirits Skinheads scene. Unlike many of their contemporaries who took influence from the British and American skinhead scenes that subsequently incorporated various Rock influences, Eastern Youth's inspiration grew from Washington DC's Post-Hardcore scene along with various Oi! and Street Punk bands. The music here sounds as inspired by Fugazi or Rites of Spring as they do by Angelic Upstarts or Combat 84. Jangly, energetic riffs buzzing with angst and alienation guide the album from track to track at a charged tempo that only relents on a handful of tracks while still keeping the wattage at full force. The memorable choruses have enough simplicity to break the language barrier and allow plenty of non-speakers to sing along after repeated listen.https://youtu.be/E8pMtwtyfG0

my biggest recommendation I haven't seen others post is Hoover - Lurid Traversal of Route 7. Moody and post-rock leaning but with a few proto-screamo moments of catharsis.

gonna poast a bunch of recs and shit, this is stuff i used to shill on here a few years back. some emoe and /phc/ anons might recognize these. i was absolutely obsessed with the canadian shit, including:shotmaker - mouse ear [forget-me-not] + believe in + the crayon clubokara - months like yearsblake - self titled LP + self titled EProckets red glare - self titled LPnorth of america - these songs are cursedthe corta vita - communication is nothing without feedbackache hour credo - discography (1994-1996)some non-canuck stuff:candidate - simple harmonic motionemery - 94-96 (theres a bootleg discography of theirs on youtube as well. not the mallcore band emery, this is the california band that released a split with jimmy eat world).the scenic vermont - self titled + worse further southbarrel - pine and cotton, sandharam - self titled LP (not the new york hardcore band, the virginia emo band made up of ex-city of caterpillar members)bells on trike - self titled 10”, unreleased demosno knife - pick anything from their discography it’s all killerdirtnap - below the speed of sound + long songs for short term friendspohgoh - in memory of bab + their reunion albums aren’t bad, especially du und ichgiants chair - red and clear + purity and controlthats enough for now
>>127620740Cheers, lad.
Maybe more post-rock than pure emo, but Plunder, Beg, and Curse by Colour Revolt.
/mu/ used to love snowing
>>127620740are you that moosecore guy from years ago? someone with similar recs bigged me up for having Pecola on a chart years ago.
>>127622403may have been me. i do like pecolai remember this one anon with a chart that had a bunch of moosecore on it
Does /mu/ like Lord Snow?
been a long time fan of the cabs. an absolute essential imo for those who like the more twinkly and math side of emo. skramz ofc, are included.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qsXxKawUos&list=RD6qsXxKawUos&start_radio=1
>>127623113Holy shit, this is awesome.
