Why do people act as if liking music is some sort of accomplishment?
>>
It is

I cannot stress enough that I am a completely unremarkable man and that I have only ever attracted women by talking about music.
>>
>>127637303
haha OP I love froggo XD
>>
>>127637303
>people
You mean men
>>

Not being a total pleb is an accomplishment, most people have no taste. They can't sit through an album, they can't read a book, they check their phones during movies. To have the basic skill of focusing on a particular task is to be a modern Hercules
>>
>>127638203
It used to be that not being a pleb, when "pleb" was used in the literal sense, meant actually learning music. But you'll never do that so you make a big deal out of a bunch of nothings.
>>
>>127638234
HOLY BASED
>>
why do frogposters say retarded shit
>>
>>127638234
You'll never do it either, which is why you're posturing as superious to others on an anonymous website where it can't be conclusively demonstrated what an abject failure you are. You'll say I'm wrong. Drop your bandcamp, Mozart.
>>
>>127638366
I'm nowhere near the level I want to be to start releasing stuff, nor am I going to rush it to prove something to bitter losers
>>
>>127638404
Might be a little premature to lord your musician status over people in dick measuring contests if you're an unrecorded novice
>>
I should have died in 2007. I still regret it. I don't have much. Let me be a snob.
>>
>>127637303
Music isn't something to enjoy but becomes apart of who they are.
"This album saved my life when I was 14"

destroyed

>>127638234
irrefutable
>>
>>127637303
People do that with far worse pastimes than music. For example, everyone's a "foodie" these days.
>>
>>127638203
>the basic skill of focusing on a particular task
yeah like having a job maybe? do you know something about that?
>>
>>127637303
What baffles me more is how much time they devote to their favorite bands and artists instead of listening to as many artists as possible when most bands haven't produced more than 6 hours of music in total within their lifespan. You can literally listen to the entire discography of The Doors, Led Zeppelin or whatever in one sitting
>>
>>127641700
>you should tear through discographies as part of a completionist performance instead of taking any time to re-listen or mentally digest the songs
>>
>>127638234
>But you'll never do that
it's doable at any stage in life. learning an istrument, and how to sing is the easiest ""skill"" out of the lot
>>
>>127641728
>he has to relisten and mentally digest songs
>he doesn't have the entire melody and lyrics in his head after hearing a song once
NGMI
>>
>>127638148
That's because we actually have taste
>>
>>127642119
>he doesn't have the entire melody and lyrics in his head after hearing a song once
This is a blessing if you're regularly exposed to radio and normie music at work. Shit, just try to make it through the supermarket if music sticks in your head that easily.

The stereotype about 4chan users being NEETs who live at home is dated, reflecting a period of time where the userbase in general was much younger. Most people here at this point work. Even our biggest losers, like Nicotranny (pbuh) had jobs. The fact that you think having a job is some mic-dropping clapback indicates a certain immaturity.
>>
hey guys
>>
>>127638234
how many people have you performed live in front off at once? 50? 100? 1000+?
>>
>>127641728
you have to do both. you have to listen to a lot of music to find the stuff that you want to spend a lot of time studying

nah, we are not acting as if it is an accomplishment, rather we recognize that we enjoy music in a superior sense compared to "normies"
we don't conform with generic popular music, we expect more from music
>>
>>127644615
I'd say around 50 was the max? But it was just something we cobbled together for an event for fun. I also do some busking basically and go to jazz jam sessions, there isn't that many people there but the super toxic regulars aren't kicking me out so whatever you want to make of that. I also arrange some stuff for bands. I'd say right now it's mostly some gear I'm missing that's preventing me from searching for actual gigs.
I don't know why everyone is trying to find the ultimate "gotcha". Someone has to play music, they're real people.
>>
>>127637303
It kind of is, since enjoyment is a reward.
>>
>>127637303
it is
youre either a part of the club or youre some outlander
