Is it too late to start making music at 20? I'm a NEET and own a guitar and drums. I don't know how to play the guitar, and still have to learn.I could get a DAW to add in layering and shit too.
Literally no one cares little bro. Anyone that bitches is just a Crabs-in-Bucket nigger that wants you to suffer alongside them instead of doing anything purposeful in your life. Start now. NOW.
It's too late to make Reign In Blood or Boot Scootin Boogie but it's never too late to make your own music.
>>127707614>Start now. NOW.Thanks for the wakeup call anon. Despite it being midnight where I'm at, I still picked it up to see what I remember of the guitar.I'll get my learning book and stand tomorrow morning and get to it.
>>127707591as with any art, there's no age limit to start, especially with people that did not have the privilege to practice anything when younger. i'm also in my early 20's and i started making music a couple years ago, though i took it more seriously this year, and i feel great when i make stuff, no matter how amateur it sounds; if it sounds good to you, that's all you need, fuck standards. just be patient and be ready to learn a lot of stuff, don't try to do everything at once, learning how to make music is a never stopping process, just like any art.if you want a suggestion, i'd recommend you download Reaper, it's practically free and there are a ton of free courses online that'll teach you a bit of everything (i like Reaper Mania's), and it has a massive community too. good luck!
>>127707591You want to ask this question when you're on your 30s?
>>127707591Do you have a good musical ear?If yes, then no it's not too late. For example I didn't learn piano until 30, but I had a well developed musical ear long before then.If your ear sucks (can't hear things that are out of pitch, can't clearly imagine music in your head, can't alter sounds in your head) then it's probably too late yeah. The ear is the only thing that needs to be developed young, everything else can happen when you're 50, doesn't matter, everything else is just extra surface level shit

>>127707591Go for it. It's really boring & tedious in the beginning. Learning theory, and it takes a LOT of learning before you feel like you have freedom. That's easier to deal with when your a kid or a teen and still have that naive curiosity. That's the only way age would affect it realistically, and you can still channel that childlike wonder if you want.
