Today's the day boys!
Coma Ecliptic is a top 5 album of theirs
>>127714077There were definitely Coma Vibes from some of the singles. Absent Thereafter sounded like it could be on Parallax or Colors so I'm hoping for more of that too.
>>127714077loved Coma on release. didn't like it as much as the years went on but it's proven to remain their best post Parallax.
>>127712670this album is so fun. can't wait to see them live next month
It bangs
Their best since Parallax II
>>127712670Love it, the two 11 minute songs are incredible.
Psychomanteum goes hard
>>127712670Uninspired piece of crap so far. Serves them right after how they fired Dusty
does it gett better with multiple listens? i only got half way through. i think i'm getting too old and tired to handle this super proggy stuff.
>>127712670I've only ever listened to Colors and Alaska but this popped up in my recommendations and it's quite good. Also their upcoming tour has a killer line up with Hail The Sun, TWIABP and Delta Sleep. Very jealous of anyone going to that.
>>127720146It always does, or did you get Colors on first listen?
>>127712670The Great Misdirect is their best album and I am tired of pretending otherwise.
>>127720517the beginning and first half are stellar, but it gets a bit boring towards the end
>>127721813Swim to the Moon is literally their best song. Boring how?
>>127721818I dunno, it drags a bit at times and doesn't carry the same level of emotional impact for me as the ending to Colors, Coma, Parallax or even Colors, perhaps because it ends in a kind of musical cliffhanger instead of actually resolving the song's theme, if that makes sense
>>127721904or even Colors 2*
>>127720517/thread
>>127712670Probably my fave album by them from front to back
>>127712670They're getting old and not afraid of hiding it
Today we rejoice and bask in glorious BTBAM
They've never made a bad album
>>127720380Colors was actually my introduction to harsh vocals so it was a bit of a unique time for me, took a while to dig too because of that.i did however get into Colors II pretty much straight away because many years had passed at that point. but then again that was 4 years ago that released when i was still down for this kind of music. i'm 37 and find i don't have much patience for this super proggy stuff anymore. just wanted to know if i was missing something, glad everyone else is digging it.
>>127726456>glad everyone else is digging itI'm not and, I pretty much love everything else they've done and listen to them regularly at 44. I just can't shake the shitty feeling of how badly they handled the whole Dusty situation. I mean the guy was framed, they were supposed to be bros and no explanation or even an official band announcement? They were together for 20 years ffs.
their most Bungle album
>>127719358I stand corrected, shit slaps, these guys can do no wrong
>>127721818That's not how you spell Sun of Nothing
>>127727940You say that like it's a bad thing.
>>127726456People get into harsh vocals either through BTBAM or Opeth.
>>127731295For me it was Atheist and Death and Emperor, but those two bands followed shortly after, so checks out.
