it's a great fucking record, apologize /mu/

The past 3 Wilson records sucked. The only hope for him is that PT continue and do a better album that the last reunion one.

I really liked it but I do understand the critiques about some of the stuff being "been there, done that" and the production being too sterile. I still like it a lot more than Harmony Codex, which I thought was pretty gud.

Because /mu/ has no taste beyond ghetto negro/spic and cumbrain bait

I kinda felt like that with To the Bone but the new one, while keeping some of his signature styles, is distinct from all of his other stuff. To keep banging on about "repeat offender" is just lazy criticism.

And the criticism that his production is "too sterile" is just silly to me. His records sound fucking great, even when they're not brilliant albums it's hard to argue against the engineering and production quality. There's a good reason all the heavy hitters call SW for remix & remastering.

In any case, even if (for whatever reason) you give the critics credence and say "OK this is a 'been there done that' record with ostensibly 'sterile' production, it's still a very, very good album.

4/5 would/will listen again.
