And that's another thing.. people such as John who are either older or very close in age to others such as plant and led zeppelin don't look up to them like kids do. So they're more critical. It's like this with every generation. 70s rockers were critical of 80s rockers, 80s rockers were critical of 90s rockers and so on. This is particularly silly because John clearly was not a big blues fan; in fact, of all The Beatles, he probably liked it the least. He liked Elvis and Buddy Holly, not Muddy and John Lee Hooker. His first band was a skiffle band.And a lot of people at the time, and even now, don't like Robert Plant. A lot of these old guard rock guys, like Keith Richards, saw how fast Led Zeppelin took off, eventually going on to be one of the biggest touring acts of the seventies, and just didn't get it.
