>>127720908come on it's not hard to imagine why. styles appear either through centuries of very gradual development, or by blending styles that had developed separately and are compatible.folk styles mostly didn't make it out of their geographical location until records were invented. melodically and rhythmically blues was pretty much african music, but with western harmony, instruments, and in english. literally the perfect candidate to introduce cool new sounds.same reason reggae got so popular at some point. heavy non-western musical influence, western tools, english speaking-artists.
