What do you think of the new DGD album that just released today? The singles took a few times for me to get into considering the tone shift from the Tilian-led releases. Honestly it feels like they're back to the Kurt Travis and Jonny Craig periods and a well-welcome improvement.
haven't heard the new album. DGD rules tho. them and skylit drive greatly influenced my own music and vocal style
How many singers did they go through now?
>>127721416Do you have anything released online?>>127721423This is their fourth lead. Andrew Wells has done background vocals for a while now, but just took over as the front man.
>>127720992I like it, their best since Mothership. Definitely feels like a conscious effort to get back to their roots after the Tilian fiasco and also because the last few albums with him were very overproduced and samey.
>>127721779>Do you have anything released online?plenty. but unless you're a kpop thread or a benefugal thread, the jannies will 3day me for "shilling". here's onehttps://vocaroo.com/1fWgZd0XxLfV
>>127720992I liked it a bit, the band still has their classic idiosyncrasies and ability to write a catchy tune... but (maybe more listens are due) at the same time, it felt like I heard the sound thousands of times already from them. Still not bad. Listen if you are already a fan I suppose. 7/10
bump for DGD. God forbid people discuss some REAL music on this board. (we'll probably all get b&)
bump
Haven't heard it yet but I liked some of the singles.
basically the kurt travis era was the greatest they've ever sounded and while they are still solid many albums later they will never be as good as they used to be
>>127726793DGD stayed more consistent than most bands from that era. only Saosin and Alexisonfire stayed that consistent imo
>>127726823it helps that their guitarist and drummer have stayed on the whole time and never really fell offlike Killswitch Engage, they never really came back after Howard Jones left
>>127726852hard to say KSE fell off, when their ORIGINAL singer came back to take over after Howard left...
>>127724565Really cool; do you have two or three singers? One kind of sounds like a cartoon character voice/tranny and that was the first thing I heard and I was like... you trollin' us bro? but then it got cool when the other singer/screamer came in.
>>127720992idk I'm not a 20 yo female
I still don't know how you can make an album as good as DBM and then switch to making quirk chungus millennial slop like this
kingdom leaks aoty by default
>>127720992Jonny Craig >>> Everyone else
>>127720992It took Tilian being a nonce but we finally got DBM2.5 (or Happiness 2). For real though what was up with them letting him back him only for him to leave a year later due to "creative differences"? I kinda believe the stories he had a contract so they couldn't kick him out until the end of the album cycle. But I figured him costing them the arena tour with Coheed would have been enough grounds to fire him.
>>127727467thanks fren. no, it's all me. guitars, bass, vocals, synths (drums are programmed cuz i suck at drums)
>>127730674>it's all meMan of many voices. When you're singing out and belting, it sounds awesome. Just your falsetto voice makes me lol.
>>127731197yeah, not everyone is a fan of the falsetto. it's just kinda always been "my thing". i always liked pushing my voice to extremes. my next album is gonna have a lot more mid-range singing on it (mostly cause i'm getting older and losing some of my high range)
