the made edm that was respectable and genuine. it's hard to explain but there's just a "trying too hard" energy with shit you hear from like dave guetta and a lot of professional djs but daft was so smooth and fresh that even non edm fans could see the beauty of it. i listened to them a lot with my friends in the late 2000s and we were all indie rock hipster types.
