Is it ok to never finish your songs?

What system other than capitalism allows you to live a comfortable life without completing your work?

So I did my do diligence and actually found the article that OP is referencing
https://www.musicradar.com/tutorials/music-theory-songwriting/why-do-we-have-such-a-need-to-finish-songs-in-a-word-capitalism-is-it-ok-to-never-actually-complete-your-tracks

Basically this retard posits that we are often pressured to finish songs we write (instead of being more willing to throw away drafts I guess?) because the invention of recorded music lead to the commodification of music and the pressure to treat unfinished works like a product that needs to be finished. He then goes on to say that music shouldn't just be about creating a finished product and that there are social and playful aspects of making music that we often forget about and bla bla bla, it's overall a pretty retarded article and you shouldn't waste your time reading it. He only ties this into some broad critique of capitalism in order to contrive that clickbait headline. By his own logic he shouldn't have felt pressure to finish that article because of "muh capitalism" and should've taken his time to write something actually decent instead of this complete waste of time clickbait slop that is likely 60% written by AI anyways

10/10 shitpost. I applaud whoever wrote this article. I will not entertain the notion that there was any seriousness behind its content.

Well if you intend that your job is producing music, then the goal is not to write songs 'per se', the goal remains mostly being a good sound engineer, if that's the meaning of the article. It's okay to leave some unfinished tracks in the closet for later or never, but blaming your own laziness on capitalism is far-fetched. Capitalism fucking sucks and is the cause of a lot of pain and mental struggles but come on, if you want to destroy capitalism you have to finish at least some fucking songs.
Yeah I think it's okay. Why would it not be?

You should praise yourself with daily positive affirmations that you're gonna express yourself freely and shit. MK-Ultra yourself that you'll be free if not successful.

If a song isn't finished then it doesn't exist, therefore a song cannot be a song until it's finished. Sometimes I think these people use the word capitalism as a stand-in for logic or physics.

>wants to be a music artist
>never finishes songs because its racist or whatever
>ends up being a music journalist instead

retard logic: confirmed and witnessed

most music journalists i've encountered over my lifetime are just like anthony fantardo, some are much sadder than him too. it's easy to criticize anything from a consumer point iof view but these people really have no idea about the process nor do they give a fuck. and many of them are on the take, getting payola from record labels to promote their slop.
