Do you like King Crimson? Their early work was a little too "prog rock" for my tastes, but when Discipline came out in '81, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Pink Floyd, but I think KC have a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '82, Fripp released this, Beat, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Neal and Jack and Me", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of strange spaghetti, and the importance of eating apples in vans with sandwiches, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Roger Waters was/is way more bitter and cynical than all 1000 past and present members of King Crimson combined tho. His book will become the holy grail in petty bittnerness and self fellating delusional revisionism and I cant wait.
Good album. Accurate sentimentcaswell
>>127731407>his bookwhat did he say on it? briefly
>>127731407King Crimson wasn't bitter and cynical. RF just doesn't affect enthusiasm the way other people do.Roger Waters is Putin's cabana boy. Whether that is why he's bitter and cynical, or whether his bitterness and cynicism drove him into Putin's lap remains to be seen.
>>12773140721st Century Schizoid Man alone says more about the futility of war than the entirety of The Wall.
>>127731514Ya but Crimson also never felt the need to spend an entire album talking shit like Waters did
>>127731458he hasnt released it yet but going by his Animals liner notes andbasically everything hes said in the last decade plus it will basically be "I did everything and the those other guys should be grateful my genius got them rich but instead they lie about how much they contributed, because it was all me."I mean hes now saying he wrote everything on Darkside of the Moon and nobody else should have gotten writing credits even though Great Gig in the Sky was Rick Wrights song. Maybe he just likes being a dick and stirring up shit

how did they get away with this?
