What were the bands you grew up with, the stuff that you were into when first getting into music in school? I got into rock music from. Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and in high school mainly listened to Christian metalcore and alternative stuff like Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Norma Jean, etc. Was also heavily into stuff like Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine. I was one of the few people in my friends group who never had a pop punk phase, never liked stuff like Say Anything despite the fact that they were insanely popular in my school.

Post-hardcore and junk like that. It's still what I enjoy now. Nothing wrong with Christian metalcore either. It was typically some of the best stuff in the genre.
