>late 2025
>decade is almost 50% over
>zoomers still havent invented a new genre, or dropped a ground breaking album

is music dead or do zoomers just suck?

real chicken and egg thing going on here

do you think the second half of the 2020s will get better musically?
>>
Counterpoint: I don't like most genres of music introduced since 1980. Maybe it's better to just focus on making good music.
>>
>>127767212
>Be me
>In the 1975
>Halfway through decade yet no groundbreaking jazz album has been made yet

>is music dead or do zoomers just suck?
Correct
>do you think the second half of the 2020s will get better musically?
It's going to get so much worse
AI slop will kill us all
Throw ourselves against the wall

prove me wrong zoomoid.

post some good zoomer music, oh wait, there isnt any :)
>>
>>127767212
>is music dead or do zoomers just suck?
Yes.

Big corporations completely killed music enjoyment with the anti-intellectualism of poptimism which destroyed media and curation. They gutted any form of artistic integrity to sell out to corporations

Lord. I let my guard down over guilt from seeing the social media bullying against Millennials and Gen Alpha. Maybe it is time to put up the pitchforks once again. I should've known that we entered a false peace again. It happens eveytime. A real /mu/ revival means gouing back to this shit again doesn't it? 2019 - 2024 all over again.

>>127767212
>zoomers still havent invented a new genre
We did but they are all shit
HexD, Sexy Drill, Pluggnb etc

>is music dead or do zoomers just suck?
Most of us suck and the system is rigged. Both can be true. Fucking faggot.

>>127767577
this as well

>>127767279
purely disengenuous.

>>127767274
>It's going to get so much worse
You may not like to hear this but Kendrick Lamar would have inspired plenty of young kids. Look at Young Sasha on Instagram or some shit. Plenty of people growing up with better influences as the current underground has become that rancid.
>>
>>127767274
if anything, the AI assrape of all that is sacred just means you get more time to catch up on your backlog, ese

Adding onto this when Gen Alpha step into the game that's when you guys get your happy ending. I'm probably gonna have to supress urges for mass homicide after my opps for nearly a decade gets everything they ever wanted. Screenshot this for 2026, 2027, 2028, I know some of you pussy faggots are insiders to this shit. "The Secret Handshake". The 5, 6, 7 numerology shit? Wouldn't of figured it out if you arrogant fucks didn't leave shit around. No one is going to believe me and I'm back on meds. So congrats I guess.
>>
>>127767784
i bet half the shit on your list is tranny garbage
>>
>>127767975
None of it was tranny garbage if you cared to actually look at it. Faggot.
>>
Back at the same deadend. There is no peace with this shit. Too much years of hatred.
>>
You fags think about zoomers so much. It's embarrassing. And yes. Music is dead. Go enjoy your old favorites. Nothing is gonna be as good as it once was. The world is falling apart and there's nothing you can do about it.
>>
>>127768011
Music isn't dead. People are angry enough
>>
>>127768025
Nah. It's dead.
>>
>>127767989
dont care, didnt read your novel. lol + you're mad
>>
>>127767212
How old is the oldest zoomer?
>>
>>127768054
Didn't ask. Don't need you to read shit.

>you're mad
Yes I am congrats. 7 of years TZD while things barely improved would do that to you.

>>127768066
28 or 30.
>>
>>127768078
>tfw 31
I am... a zoomer?
>>
>>127768084
No. You missed the cut of both definitions. It's either 1995 or 1997
>>
>>127768094
I was certain they were 15 at best kek
Anyway to answer the question
>leading lives that are fairly unremarkable which leads to a lack of need for artistic expression
>smartphone addiction due to lazy parenting leading to an adhd epidemic
>housing inflation is making every generation live in more cramped conditions that the preceding ones; lack of space and autonomy leads to a lack of activities that require both things (e.g. can no longer jam out with friends in the garage)
>mass exposure to low-brow media such as streamers, influencers and the like
It'll probably take a while for them to get their act together in the way you expect because the very foundation of their identity seems flawed. It also seems silly to blame them for their seeming lack of artistic vision as the attitudes of children and young adults are just a product of the culture they live in. Parents and society failed them as much as they did in a personal, individual level.

Anon I wrote all of that and also I don't even use AI to be influenced by it

I am a Zoomer...
>>
>>127767212
That's because of rap being mainstream dumbass.
>>
Lil Peep and XXXTentacion were the biggie/tupac, Beatles, Kurt Cobain, Julian Casablancas, Alice Glasses of the time but ofc the gov't killed them
>>
https://youtu.be/YKbKxbXpCZQ
zoomers aren't doing rock they're doing rap you'll have to wait for rap to die out properly
>>
>>127767784
>the chats
they're not a good band. they had a little viral moment and seem like chill lads irl but they're not actually good, cmon.
>>
>>127767212
The decade is technically more than halfway over.
>>
>>127768066
28.
>>127768078
>28 or 30.
No, thirty year olds are millennials.
>>127768084
No. The oldest members of generation Z were born in 1997.
>>
>>127769302
Different sources list different years. Generations are not set in stone.
>>
>>127767256
Jazz died in the 70s in way for more groundbreaking styles of rock music
>>
>>127767212

covid killed this decade in so many ways
>>
>>127768025
>Music isn't dead.
nobody even plays instruments anymore
>>
>>127767784
>HexD, Sexy Drill, Pluggnb
Created by millennials, sorry zoom zoom! Also all those albums suck. Zoomers are 28 this year, gen alpha is already running circles around you zoomie, you missed your chance.
>>
Look man Im fucking working on jt.it. starting a band is really hard, especially when you have to work for a living. No summer of love free rides here, and why do I need to invent a new genre for the music to be valuable. Everything derives from something
>>127767231
This
>>
>>127768025
But they're NOT bored enough to learn instruments.
>>
>>127767212
Some dudes in Chile are making the most innovative music there is right now. They invented sextrance with Ateriavia and now are making some insane electronic and punk music as Segunda Mordida on Bandcamp. There is a ton of new shit with varying degrees of quality, but you will never find it if you dont lurk bandcamp or get into the shill threads here. Nothing groundbreaking is popular from the start.

Not their fault the government cut funding. The programming already finished, you can see the result on this board and outside.
>>
>>127770904
The only genres of music dependent on government funding are classical and military marches. Even then a lot of classical was traditionally funded privately by wealthy patrons.
>>
>>127768963
IDK where you live but around here rap was never really a thing outside blacks.
>>
>>127771002
It's not for music it was primarily an auxiliary part of the music industry to create a predetermined future culture which we are living in now.

This is why a lot of band pictures from then have the same quality, it was in their contracts with their industry people, who had intelligence and social science models they had to insert in the music to this end. Probably the A&R, producers etc. received grants, favours and such things for doing this, who knows.

Also was a vehicle for a lot of sexual abuse done by those involved and trusted with these powers
>>
Bands like Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Bastille, even like Muse and Radiohead all have similar qualities in their output and promote also LGBT and British Identity.

Also there is a strong theme of emasculation and dependent passive attitudes of men framed as "opening mens emotional side" like in Coldplay's Viva la Vida and a lot of Bastille's output also, just off the top of my head. There are lots of bands following that model
>>
If you follow these social models you will get promoted by those state funded social science elements, maybe not anymore though, but definitely some decades ago.

It's not anything about the music, just the ideas promoted
>>
>>127771087
The reason I say not anymore btw is because Israel's narrative matrix collapsed and they are about to get exposed for massive crimes connected in the West, with these things. Not because I'm chatting shit.

*Jazz music stops*
