>New NIN "Album"
>Is mostly soundtrack
>Only called "Album" for marketing purposes
>No Industrial aspects at all, barely even NIN
Fuck this shit. Trent is a sellout.
>>
You JUST figured that out?
>>
>wtf the movie soundtrack is just a soundtrack
>>
>>127769059
Not even soundtrack. It's a Movie SCORE. Soundtrack is for when it's a collection of singles from the movie, score is when it's original compositions made for the movie that don't really fit outside of it.

It was marketed as a SOUNDTRACK (AKA singles), and in fact was also marketed as a traditional album as well.

based Trent finally admitting his lyrics are retarded
Anyone I've ever met who likes NIN for the lyrics is picrel

>Of course it's different from normal NIN, same thing happened with Daft Punk and Tron
>It's still great just like Daft Punk's Tron score, being able to multigenre is the mark of a good artist
Is what I probably WOULD say... IF I COULD FIND THE DAMN THING TO LISTEN TO.
Whoever decided to call it "Album" is a total dumbass, this shit is literally unfindable because of its shit-ass non-name. It doesn't matter how good it is if I can't listen to it anywhere. Absolutely idiotic.

>Reznor said that a listener could listen to the soundtrack just as they would a conventional Nine Inch Nails album.
>>
Is this the one where he's like INFECTION. I really like the video with the glitching 3d models, reminds me of datamoshing which is really cool. The song has grown on me but its still average, probably slightly below par with those other 3 little albums he did

lol calm down you fucking spaz, it's not even out yet, you can allegedly find it on soulseek tho
as for the album, nothing post-hiatus has been worth paying attention to really.
>>
Dicking around doing whatever kind of music you want when you're already rich is the opposite of selling out. An old rich man trying to tap into his buried angst from younger years so he can sell more music, now that's selling out.

I've never been more disappointed in Trent, no fucking way I'll ever consider this a NIN album in any capacity no matter how much he is hell-bent on that.
Even compared to his other scores, this is really bad, it's bad as a score, it's some of his laziest most bland music he put out ever. How the fuck did he put out Challengers so recently and then he makes this? It feels like he phoned it in but acted like it was a huge deal and return of NIN itself.
>>127769760
Trent has been labelling his soundtracks under his name for decades, but now that Disney told him to label this soundtrack under NIN, it's suddenly Nine Inch Nails, Trent did sell out to Disney, plainly.
>>127769059
>Advertised as a NIN album
>"NIN RETURNS" when you look at CDs
>Promised songs but hidden how many songs there actually are
>Saying shit like pic related in interviews.
>>
>>127769754
I thought that might be the case but decided it will still be a pain in the ass to find by name when it does come out anyways if so.
>>
>>127769760
He should start some shit to create real angst
>>
>>127769066
Unironically I have always liked NIN's instrumental tracks more than their rocky lyrical tracks. Trent is really good at playing with textures.
>>
>>127769459
the leak has been posted like 3 times in the last couple of days you silly person, one post is still there now in the other thread about this

>wtf why isn’t this 60 year old man making the same music he did 30 years ago
>>
>>127768332
>>127769059
Reminder the ONLY reason they went with "MUSIC BY NINE INCH NAILS" instead of the usual "TRENT & ATTICUS" is because the production was lead by Boys Noize and Trent is absolutely shameless in not wanting to credit him. That's why they go with "NIN" so normgroids will still think it was entirely Trent & Atticus.

>74mb for an album with 24 tracks
not downloading that
>>
>Trent puts out like 25 instrumental and largely ambient soundtracks
>all very well received
>puts out another soundtrack
>still the same deal, just very publicly state that Disney is insisting on putting the NIN name on it for marketing purposes
>WTF THIS ISN'T AN ALBUM IT'S JUST A SOUNDTRACK

I can not fathom being shocked by this
>>
>>127770379
its 192kbps

Except that Trent said you can listen to this as a NIN album which is a lie.
It's also very contextual, last time NIN made a proper album was in 2018 with Bad Witch, a last full packaged album was in 2013 with Hesitation Marks, with Ghosts - Locus/Together people still had some patience and since it was a free gift released during COVID, people really didn't care, if it was released at any other time people might be more disappointed.
But this is very different, NIN finally "returns" big hype, Trent promises songs and that you can listen to this as a NIN album, the fan-base is absolutely starved for a proper NIN album and this was advertised as such.
Also, it's not even a good score by Trent's standarts, this is arguably his worst work. That doesn't help either
>>
>>127770499
>Also, it's not even a good score by Trent's standarts, this is arguably his worst work
you just dont like ebm, old man
>>
>>127770514
Nah, I like EBM a lot, I loved Hesitation Marks which mostly falls into that or at least has influences by that, I loved the techno of Challengers, I also like bands like Front Line Assembly. The Tron Ares soundtrack just isn't very good, it's repetitive, teh songs don't feel finished a lot of them sound like demos, I'm open minded I'd say especially with Post-Industrial genres, this is just pretty lukewarm. Which I wouldn't give a shit about if Trent didn't put NIN name on it, where I'd expect him to deliver at least an exceptional score if not a NIN album.
