bump
>Finis MalorumI wish they had re-recorded those songs. Why don’t bands do this
>>127771779Most bands do though. A typical metal debut LP is half older demo tracks and half new material written for the album (e.g. Somberlain, Left Hand Path). I'm actually grateful that the Sacramentum debut doesn't have a bunch of older songs padding out the length.
>>127772333I mean further down the road when assumedly they would have gained some experience on how to make a record sound good. Maybe people would just call that a cash grab? People would buy it though
>>127772374Well then perhaps they didn't think the material was good enough or that the recording was bad enough that it needed to be fixed. FM to me sounds like a warmup for the first album, an embryonic version of the multilayered flowing sound they would soon perfect (with Swano's help of course). So they could have recorded a song like Moonfog again, but they surpassed the idea of that song so thoroughly on FAFtS they didn't have to.
Saving from an untimely death
There's a good noise rock thread up if anyone's interested in that. I'll have to bookmark some stuff in there and hopefully get to it before I'm a hundred.>>127769339>>127770477>>127774655Thanks for the bumps.>>127771779The 2020 remaster makes it sound a little better, but it loses some dynamic range.Anyone know if the EP's drumming programmed btw? MA lists a drummer, but some of it like Devide et Impera sounds pretty artificial.
>>127774796I don't think it's programmed, since a lot of the beats and fills are very off-time, but it does sound like Swanö triggered the kick and snare (maybe toms too) and used some rather cheap-sounding samples. You can hear samples on the drums in the Dissection stuff too, it's just better incorporated into the mix.
>>127775284>it does sound like Swanö triggered the kick and snare (maybe toms too) and used some rather cheap-sounding samplesalright that makes more sense
Washing the taste of a crappy Coroner album out with a good Coroner album.
Are you anticipating his final album anon?
>>127780391He's ending the band? I've listened to a couple releases and found them cool but a little bit on the novelty end, so I don't follow what the guy does closely. I guess one man or band can only take the idea so far.
>>127780465Allegedly, he’s kind of schizo and goes on long Instagram rants saying he’s gonna quit all the time, seems serious this time as he’s putting more focus into his other band Tantric Bile and stepping away from the metal sound as a whole. What makes it feel novelty to you, I get that with some of his more recent stuff like the piano album, but it seems like the logical next step of sound from enmity and encenathrakh.
>>127780500Well it's good he's still making something in a similar vein. I had seen Tantric Bile mentioned when skimming gorenoise lists and didn't connect that it was another Matt Stephens project. I'll get to it... eventually.......>What makes it feel novelty to youInstrument choices on some of those releases like you said, and generalizing from listening to the first demo and the split with Blowtorch, it sounded a bit dependent on being as crazy as possible. But those are personal feelings and I'm not dismissing it. You could make the same argument about those other death/gorenoise bands.
hi
>>127782535Would you like some rock music sir?

>>127785827I like that every "song" on the EP announces itself with drumstick clicking, even if the previous song hasn't even stopped yet.>the 2 second gap in the middlewell played
the music box song is one of the goats of the genre
>>127792188I probably should check out more dissoshit just to get familiar with the classics of the subgenre
>>127794287Disso has become a catch-all term for everything Hector listens to used especially by that orbiter guy
>>127795636RYM lists the band as dissonant death metal, and anons have called the dissonant black/death styles dissoshit for a long time, both in positive and negative contexts.
