Dub music had a massive presence in underground music from the 70s to the 2000s - Punk, Alternative rock, Psych rock, Trip hop, Industrial, Jungle, trance, ambient, techno. So many different genres had dub crossovers.

Now, ever since the explosion of Dubstep, Dub seems to have completely died as a genre. I can barely find any labels, artists, scenes that are actually carrying on the tradition, despite some old artists who are still pumping out music in their 60s and 70s.

Are there any new dub artists from the past 10-20 years who are actually making good music?

the earliest dub traces in popular charting music seems to be David Essex's "Rock On"

Theres a big scene in Europe, specially France and Italy. But most of it is digital, a subgenre called steppers, with heavy kicks every four beats. It just doesnt feel like reggae at all.
