Working class this, working class that... spare me.
all being "working class" proves is that your parents were stupid. so chances are you are too. I'm sick and tired of this notion that if you aren't a poor loser, you can't be creative.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of musicians from well-to-do, comfortable backgrounds, often with trust funds. Just because their parents/grandparents or whatever made a bunch of money doesn't mean their music is bad. I'd go as far to say that chances are, it's better than working class music. These artists have the genetics of people who are capable of greatness, capable of thriving, of building something noteworthy. Be it a real estate empire or a career as a punk or indie musician.

is this a thing? do people believe this? if so then I wasn't even aware that such notion existed, most people don't think about these idea of "classes" within music as far as I am aware

Joe Strummer and John Lennon suck though. Overrated garbage that people rightfully spit on when they do.

>implying cutting some real estate deals in the bubble of all bubbles or a shitty punk record 40 years past the relevance of punk would be noteworthy

John Lennon grew up well off by 1950s Liverpool standards i.e. poor in most of the first world

Aren't basically all classical composers and performers at least upper-middle class, if not quite wealthy?

Rich people have never suffered or faced challenges so they have no insight into the human condition.

John Lennon didn't have money growing up, his uncle did

Working class is when you don't need no instructions to know how to rock
>>
no one is saying rich people can't make great art, but its a fact that all the best music came from working class artists

Based. Be brave enough to hate the poor and your life and tastes will be much better.
