why are music piracy snobs such hypocrites? having this as their soulseek bio:>ppl who don't share a single byte of data, or their slsk temp folder ==> blacklist.>traders/private only files ==> blacklist.and then literally all of their files are marked as private. I thought the whole idea of piracy was sharing.
>>127882915you just posted the reason why I dont waste my time in slsk
do you get slsk cred for uploading obscure local tapes from the 80s or do they accept you for just sharing your mainstream cd rips? i've never pirated much but might get into it.
>>127882938most of the time it's great, it's just when there's only 1 person with a rare album it's always some snob that has locked it up but still insists that it shows up in search results as some kind of flex I guess.>>127882946I'm sure people looking for that stuff would appreciate it when they come across it, just make sure everything is tagged and organized correctly.
>>127882946there are no hard requirements just share what you have and what you download. I end up sharing about 10GB a day or so.
>>127882915Most people on soulseek are not like this, at most you'll find one or two faggots every couple of months.
>>127883047fortunately this is true, but it always seems to be the person that is "sharing" an album that nobody else has.
>>127882963usually they'll unlock it for you if you message them
>>127883236maybe they're just away but I've messaged then a couple times over the last week to no response.
>>127883078use the wishlist feature search results only show files from whoever is currently connected and most people don't leave soulseek on all the time, and a lot of people only connect when they're actively using itadd stuff to your wishlist and leave soulseek running 24/7 and you'll find almost anything eventually
That's why I started paying for Spotify.
>>127883322An album that only has 1 person sharing it on soulseek at any given moment isn't going to be on spotify.
>>127883322zoomer moment
>>127882915I hate internet divas so fucking much
>>127883330I go to archive.org for that.
>>127882915>hypocritesyou don't know what this word meansnothing about that is hypocriticalin fact, it's hypocritical to want access to other people's P2P shared stuff without sharing your own
>>127883921what are you talking about? I have my entire music library on soulseek and keep it running 24/7.
>>127883938then what the hell did you make the thread and cry for if you are not affected?
>>127883985all of my music is shared, the guy who is crying about blacklisting people if they don't share has all of their files marked private, including the album that I want, so it does affect me..
>>127884009what album do you want? maybe someone here has it
>>127884009have you tried messaging him instead of coming to an unaffiliated website to moan about it?
I never see anyone like this, but then I don’t look at profiles so maybe there are more than I realise. My library is big, mostly lossless, well organised and all shared so I wouldn't notice them. I have one user blocked for ridiculous restrictions on who can dl, he wants you to share like 250k files in 50k folders or some stupid shit like that but I mostly dgaf. I set no restrictions myself, anyone can dl as much as they want, but I'm fine with a sharing network that anyone can engage with on whatever terms they feel like, its only if those terms are super unrealistic I might block them just out of spite.
>>127882915Hi, I behave exactly like this user on slsk and I believe I am justified in doing soAMA
