these guys have an immense collection of crazy trippy beautiful stuff and kinda same amount of it remains offstage, wish we will hear it sometimebtw maybe you know artists with same or similar style and vibe?
>>127886396Tycho's sound reminds me a bit of them, check out Past is Prologue
>>127886549thx! btw if you care also check yourself symmetry systems by 36, emerald is my favorite (i hate spotify but their algorithms are surprisingly accurate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
>>127886676Never heard of them, will give them a listen
>>127886396Black Moth Super Rainbow
>>127886396Plaid. they are like BOC but better
Royksopp?
Christ. He was some sort of member of BoC for a moment as well, but tons of the stuff he released himself sounds just like them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je1WQuY3ALQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcaNsuqOzwY
>>127886396Deadmau5 released one of the best Boards of Canada-esque tracks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amBBO4PqJKo
>>127886923Came here to post this. Also picrel came out the same year as Boc Maxima and was also self-released. https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZP1Sw9HvxYIProbably the closest you'll get though, there's really nothing quite the same as BoC. I'd recommend Phoenecia for a lesser known duo, they have a unique sound all their own though, not quite the same but its great ambient idm.https://youtube.com/watch?v=YCIjGSazVkA
>>127886923>>127887017Loving this, thanks.
I love Boards of Canada
ive been obsessed with pic related. they really captured the existential dread but thats just how i feel
>>127886858gay
>>127886867yeah they're cool, so easy is my favorite
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br0xN46S8ZY
>>127895267PCA is boring as AFwould be better if they had (better) percussion >>127887017>Boc MaximaTheir highest masterpiece, for my money
get old tunes vol 1 and 2 and random 35 tracks tape, I dismissed them for a while because it's so fragmentary but they're all really greattry OPN's Rifts (ep compilation)tycho doesn't even come close IMO though you can hear he really loves themit's more basic happy go lucky but try Lone's Emerald Fantasy Tracks too
Arovane - Tides is also very nice
>>127887017thanks that christ. track is really nice, didn't know about the boc associationthere's a bunch of Seefeel-adjacent stuff that sounds kinda similar, Locust - Natural Composite especially
>>127896937Yeah, along with all the saturated synths and nostalgic melodies, the percussion was a big part of BoC's sound for sure, Chinook being a great example, and some of the tracks on Trans Canada Highway like Skyliner. Feel like that's one aspect alot of the imitators don't capture as well.>>127896937Agreed. Including some tracks from the demos on Boc Maxima was a great move, but unfortunately it was at the cost of sacrificing some of the length, kind of making them more of interludes, but having those on an official release still puts it pretty high up.
